⚖️THE 10/10/10 RULE⚖️
➖➖➖
Driving in Downtown Dallas is a masterclass between patience and rage. This morning, a guy cut me off while I was merging onto 75. Twenty-year-old Wesley would’ve taken the mantra of, “You betta let me merge, or I’ll kill us both!”
➖
Not anymore. Today’s Wesley is following the 10/10/10 Rule. Whenever you get challenged, ask yourself these three simple questions:
➖
1️⃣ Will this matter in 10 minutes?
➖
2️⃣ Will this matter in 10 weeks?
➖
3️⃣ Will this matter in 10 years?
➖
Since applying this Rule, I’ve noticed that I don’t let anger consume me, stress about useless s**t, or worry about things outside of my control.
➖
You can also apply this Rule when challenged in your health and fitness goals: unexpected scale fluctuations, a late-night binge on a bag of potato chips, or that “look” you receive when you decline post-work drinks for the gym.
➖
Try it and see how it changes your outlook the next time someone or something challenges you.
➖
Remember, will it matter in 10 minutes, 10 weeks, or 10 years?
➖
And please, for the love of God, let people merge. 😩🙏🏻

🔂THE DAILY GRIND🔂
➖➖➖
January 2023 ➡️ December 2023
➖
A year transformation.
➖
It was a year of training hard, eating right, and building discipline.
➖
A year of asking myself, “Is this worth it?”
➖
Or doubting myself when the scale wouldn’t budge.
➖
But it was all worth it in the end, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
➖
As you work towards your fitness goals this year, remember nothing comes easy or fast. There’s no instant gratification in this game.
➖
Become process-driven, not destination-driven.
➖
Focus on the daily, not some obscure, picturesque version of yourself you envision years later.
➖
It’s what separates achievers from quitters.
➖
Which one will you be?

🙅🏼♂️THE POWER OF NO🙅🏼♂️
➖➖➖
“You’re not focused enough unless you’re mourning some of the things you’re saying no to.” — author of “Atomic Habits”
➖
During contest prep, I would say no to countless offers, often daily: a night out with friends, a family birthday party, a piece of cake, a piece of pie, etc.
➖
Saying no became automatic, unapologetic, and without hesitation. It wasn’t out of disrespect or interest—there were many times when I wanted to do such things—but my drive and focus were too great to consider an alternative.
➖
There comes a point where you have to mourn parts of your old life to make room for the new one that you’re building.
➖
Saying no repeatedly builds discipline. That’s what you’re lacking. Not motivation. Not energy. Not purpose. It’s discipline. Find it, and use it.

⚖️3 CARDINAL RULES⚖️
➖➖➖
It’s the last two weeks of the year, and it’s jam-packed with holiday parties, family engagements, and probably a dozen plus tamales.
➖
Take a few minutes today to identify your 3 Cardinal Rules for your health and fitness goals. Here are some examples:
➖
Your Diet Rule 🥦 — only eat out twice a week
➖
Your Fitness Rule 🏋🏼♂️ — lift in the AM so you can enjoy the PM with friends and family
➖
Your Alcohol Rule 🍸 — two drinks maximum on the weekends
➖
A well-built house must have a solid foundation. Use these rules as your foundation.
➖
Hold yourself accountable by making your 3 Cardinal Rules nonnegotiable. Better yet, enforce them as if a police officer will write you a citation for disobeying them.
➖
Rules create boundaries. Boundaries ensure continuity. Continuity promotes consistency and progress.

🦾OFF-SEASON🦾
➖➖➖
Competing in Nationals was an eye-opening experience; that stage last weekend displayed endless bouts of talent, athleticism, and professionalism. Despite being last in call-outs, I have no regrets about doing this show. It was a great moment, and it helped solidify my desire to get to that higher level.
➖
So, after a few days of eating and relaxing, I’m back in the gym. I’m starting slow until my strength returns, but it feels good to be back here! AM cardio, abdominal/waist training, and posing practice are all habits that will continue going forward. The rebound diet is in full swing, and I’m excited to start eating well and lifting heavier.
➖
Many of you have asked what my plans are now. I’m taking a solid year off to add size, improve my weak areas, and refine my posing. My goal is to return to the stage in 2025. In the meantime, I plan to partner with Anthony to scale JAMC Fit to help as many LGBTQ men as possible live healthier and sexier lives. A year with no contest prep means more time to help others. 😌
➖
P.S. We’re closing off submissions in less than 24 hours for our Annual Online Coaching Giveaway, a holiday tradition of ours when we gift a lucky follower the chance to win a VIP spot in our signature online coaching program, “Get Thicc!” To enter, tap my Linktree. ✅READY, SET, GO✅
➖➖➖
Athlete check-in and appointments are always exciting moments to experience before a show.
➖
Adrenaline is high. Camaraderie is infectious. Everyone is here for a unified purpose: for the love of the sport.
➖
Yes, contest prep is hard. Some don’t last. There are many days when it sucks. But you appreciate knowing that all of your fellow competitors are also experiencing the same emotions.
➖
You learn to enjoy the journey—that’s what’s important. Not your placing. Not comparison rounds. Nor the stage photos. And definitely not how many donuts are awaiting us backstage—although that is great! What’s important is the person you become after it’s all said and done, your transformation into a true, bonafide, well-rounded athlete.
➖
Good luck to everyone this weekend!

🦵🏻THE ART OF POSING🦵🏻
➖➖➖
Yesterday, I attended a posing seminar hosted by .of.champions at in Allen, TX, where I finally got to meet posing educator extraordinaire, .
➖
I sought Daniel’s help this contest prep season to refine and elevate my posing for and I can’t emphasize the amount of value and education that he’s delivered. He truly is a master of his craft. I’ve learned more about posing in our three sessions together than any YouTube video could ever teach me.
➖
I quickly learned that posing is an art that requires a skill set that must be crafted over time. I’ll admit that, at first, posing was exhausting and intimidating, but it’s slowly starting to become a new passion of mine. Thanks a million, Daniel! I’m excited about our many future posing sessions together. 💪🏻
