Airmoms Operation:Graduation assists other Air Force families, that due to financial circumstances, are unable to attend their loved ones' graduations from Basic Military Training in San Antonio, Texas. Imagine being one of the tens of thousands of young Americans that selflessly elects to devote a minimum of the next four years of your life to Military service. Your first step is Basic Military T
raining (BMT), which in the United States Air Force is eight and a half weeks of some of the most grueling activities you could imagine. Physical challenges that push your body to its very limit; followed by hours of class work that leave you completely drained by the time its "lights out" at days end. You have the opportunity, as do your flight brothers and sisters to be congratulated and admired by the family you left behind over two months ago. Only you are all alone; not a single person has been able to make the journey to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas to give you the ever resounding "I'm so proud of you!". Your family's finances just did not allow for travel, hotels and meals over the five days of BMT graduation. It's a reality that plays out, time and time again, for young Airmen from all over our great nation. But now, there are two Texas moms of Airmen that have set out to be certain that this scenario is not played out again.
