I've wrote iterations on this post countless times. It's going to be a long one, but fans, please, read the whole thing if you can. It would mean a lot to me.
Last night was the FOURTH time we have all gathered to honor the name and legacy of Jason Silver. For the FOURTH time, I think we ALL did an amazing job. So I want to say thank you to a LOT of people. I may miss someone, and if I do, I truly am sorry. It's a lot, and I keep crying as I write this.
TO THE FANS: Thank you. Once again, you packed the place full, in the name of Jason Silver. If there was one thing Silver loved about wrestling, it was the passion that each and every one of you showed, EVERY TIME you stepped into the building he was performing at. Whether you saw Jason in person, or not, I know he would thank you for loving professional wrestling, because HE loved professional wrestling. I'm glad we could take the time to give you all more of what you love.
TO MPX: Thank you to Metroplex Wrestling, to not only giving Jason Silver and so many other wrestlers a home, but for allowing us to use the building and ring, and everything else we used to put this show on. From all of the owners (past and present), to the concessions, thank you. For helping with the charity stuff ( I know that's been a giant headache, and there will be more news on that very soon)
TO THE TECH TEAM: You guys did yet another phenomenal job. I know Silver would always go out of his way to thank people on the tech team if a shot was exactly how he envisioned it. You captured the show in only the way you all can, and made sure everything went smooth. You are AMAZING for that.
To Conspiracy Apparel & Graphics: Every year you knock it out of the park. Whether its the graphics, the videos, the moral support, I couldn't ask for a better partner when it comes to this. Before you, I relied on Silver a lot for graphic work. He loved drawing and coming up with new ideas. I know for a fact he's proud of the work you've done. Not only for these shows, but all the work you've put in. Every bit of it.
To my referees: Cedric Alexander, Carl Knight, Colin, and especially Alan Paden: Thank you. I say every year this show is controlled chaos. And you all are definitely the control. Thank you for ensuring everything stays safe, even when matches fly off the rails. They always end safe. You are all amazing.
To Heather Noonan McLendon: You are a saint. Between helping out however you can, to making sure shirts are made (even when people don't follow simple instructions ;) ), to getting us new armbands, to everything else that you do. You do it all, on a tank of gas that is so much smaller than some of ours. Yet you do, and you have the time and energy for those around you who need it. Thank you. That is how you and Silver were most alike, and the reason he loved you as much as he did.
To Rusty McLendon and the rest of Security: Thank you for keeping EVERYONE safe. Not just fans, not just the wrestlers, EVERYONE. I know it's not an easy job at all, but I also know you make it look effortless and amazing. And Rusty, not only for that, but for caring as much as you do about the small things, no matter how tiny and insignificant they may seem. You understand how much those things matter, and you take care of them. Just like Silver would.
To ALL OF MY WRESTLERS: Thank you for putting your bodies on the line to honor our fallen brother. To showcase yourselves in a way to showcase him. Every year I trust every single one of you to put on the best show you can, just like he would have wanted. And every year you all exceed my expectation. Whether you're wrestling several times every week, or this is the only show you do all year, and everyone in between... I am so proud of all of you. And I know he is too.
To Izzy James: You were one of Silver's closest friends. A tag partner, a brother. Every year, you find a new way to honor him. And I love you for that.
To Barrett Brown: We did it yet again. Even if the ending was... not what you expected. We did it. Sorry I spilled the beans that we aren't ever going to stop doing these shows. But you know as well as I do. We can't. We won't. I love you, and I thank you for everything.
To Tarin Muse: You kept this show happening, even if at one point, you thought we should stop doing them after this one. Once you saw the resolve, I think you realized how much they not only mean to me, but also to you. You kept things going, no matter how dark, how stressful, how tear-filled, or how ridiculous they got. Silver loved you, and trusted you. I do too. I love you. Thank you.
To the Silver family: Thank you for sharing him with us, with me. It's not a secret how close I was to him, and with you all. I hope I did him justice once again. If not, if there's any issue, please, reach out to me. Tell me. He was my brother, and I want to make sure I'm doing the best for him.
And last, and certainly not least, to the man who was known as The "Immortal", the "Complex Killer", the "Lost Boy" Jason Silver:
I love you. I wish you were still here, and I hate that you are gone. But I also know that you are still here with me in spirit. From the stupid little things that happen in my day to day life (I still am shocked you find new places to make "Immortals" play, I thought you hated that song...), to being around my neck every where I go, to the things you taught me, and instilled into me, and still are doing. I can't thank you enough. For the family and friends I now have because of you. For your son Lyrick, who I think even you would be shocked at how big he has become already. For the moments you've made, for the moments you've inspired, for the moments that haven't even happened yet, all because of something you did, or something you said. I could write for days and days about this (I know, you always said I knew how to talk, and write, when I put my mind to it.), but this is getting long, and I'm betting most people have already scrolled on. I can't say more than thank you, for everything.
If you made it this far, please. Do me a favor. Share this. Leave a comment about something. If not about Silver, about something from one of the shows you've seen because of him. That's any of the XV Promotions shows at all. Not just this past one, ANY of them. It wouldn't have been possible without him.
I'll leave off with this. Everything was recorded. As soon as I receive the footage tonight, I will upload it to our Youtube page, complete with timestamps to each match. Thank you everyone one last time. We did it again. For Silver.
