when someone asks me this before they even set foot in the classroom, i already know there’s a high chance they’ll come once and then never return again. that mindset is focused on instant gratification and some sort of finish line that doesn’t exist.
real talk, you are looking at 10 years of consistent attention to dance and i still feel like a baby dancer.
i speak to my experience in the post, but i think universally you have to hold the line through discomfort, stay humble and curious, and genuinely love the style itself if you want to stay for years.
most importantly, try not to be so hard on yourself. something i am personally very bad at lol. pure enjoyment is the whole point! 👌
