We are partnering with ETTS Gun Range to offer a 4 hour handgun skills workshop on December 5, 2026. The class is 4 hours and is of high basic to intermediate level. This is NOT handgun 101. You MUST be able to safely handle, function, load, unload your own weapon in a group setting. $185.00 for non LE and you’ll need around 200 rounds. Thanks to ETTS… FOR ACTIVE LE, the class is FREE OF CHARGE, and 9mm ammo is provided FREE. To register.., non LE follow the link on the website. SPEED DOESN’T REPLACE FUNDAMENTALS. IT EXPOSES THEM.

Anyone can fire slowly and make an acceptable hit. The real test begins when the pace increases and the shooter must maintain control, process the sights and deliver accurate follow-up shots.

A five-round cadence drill can reveal problems that single shots often hide:

* Inconsistent grip pressure
* Poor recoil management
* Unnecessary visual confirmation
* Disrupted trigger manipulation
* A stance that cannot manage repeated fire

Start slowly. Establish an accountable standard. Increase the pace only while the hits remain acceptable. When performance breaks down, identify the cause instead of simply shooting more am******on.

Urban skills went great yesterday. Jesse and Bryan serve on a church security team and get reps in on self aid buddy aid medical, live fire range work with active shooter response lean, and medical application stress drills. It was a great day, but HOT, working with a metroplex police departments fi****ms instructors and exchanging information. As is the case many times, LE instructors get limited opportunities to travel and be exposed to different philosophies, updates to tactics and techniques, so we bring them to you. All instructors braved the beta, came with open minds and learned updated techniques, got to be coached in actually instructing students in order to quickly and efficiently correct deficiencies. The days of “instructors” merely signing off on a qual course are thankfully coming to an end. However, this means most LE instructors are behind the teaching curve. The requirement for instructors to observe, see deficiencies, efficiently and effectively, coach the student, see and document improvements is the future.
