Bikram says his Guru, Bishnu Ghosh saved his life by saving his knee. Bikram had weights fall on his knee in a contest which crushed his knee. His guru rehabilitated and reconstructed his knee back to new with the healing practice of Hatha Yoga postures and breathing techniques. Whatever we have learned from Bikram, he says, they are all teachings of my guru.
"In the early 1930's, Yogananda and his youngest brother, Bishnu Ghosh, traveled together throughout the United States giving lectures and demonstrations of physical culture including bodybuilding and Hatha Yoga. At Yogananda's request my guru also started teaching Hatha Yoga at the Self-Realization fellowship. Ghosh inspired both children and adults to strengthen their bodies and minds. My guru also originated bodybuilding contests in America, founding the Mr. Universe contest and acting as it's chief judge in 1948. He was an Olympic judge, a member of the International Olympic Committee, and founder of the International Weightlifting and Body Building Federation. He also became a visiting professor at Columbia University, though he continued to return to India often in order to train yogis at his own school, Ghosh's College of Physical Education, in Calcutta."

Bikram Yoga Danbury
Bikram yoga is a beginners 26 posture series. It is practiced in a heated room to warm up the whole body. This allows the student to work deep into the muscles, tendons, ligaments, organs and every cell of the body. Primarily, Bikram yoga is an excellent preventative activity as well as a system that can reduce many symptoms of chronic ailments and diseases. The class is designed for all levels, whether a first time student or an advanced practitioner. In time, the student learns how to use the breath to connect the mind and body. This allows them to practice deeper while remaining calm and balance. As a student deepens this relationship they begin to realize the meaning of yoga – a union of the body, mind and spirit.
Bikram Yoga College of India Danbury offers classic Bikram yoga classes – under the strictest of Bikram guidelines and dialogue. We give each student, whether a beginner or advanced, a place to practice the very best Bikram yoga. It is our intention to teach Bikram yoga the way it was meant to be taught – true to the dialogue, the heat and the challenge.

Good morning,
This is the link for tonight’s 7PM meeting.
We hope you can join into our effort to change the misconceptions and misinformation and preconceived ideas of what owning a small flock can do.
While we are the family faced with a cease and desist , we are not an isolated case on keeping chickens as pets.
It is testimony that the residents are looking to become more connected with their food, the natural world and the educational value a small flock can bring for the young generation.
