Danbury/Putnam Lake Football 2012

Hello Everyone sorry for the delay, Ive been a little busy and still aggravated about losing so bear with me. The results of this week is that we have a new number one team in the league. Team New Fairfield defeated the Bad News Beers in runaway fashion while Pace suffered a crushing loss to the now relevant Ballhawgs, who are a suprising 2-1. Pace who were last seasons champs haven't lost too many games in the past 4 seasons, now have a loss. Los Sucious showed up to play this week, but was beaten by Allachi Island. After an injury to the starting qb, the offense was still able to keep it going, and the defense got a huge safety late in the game. Los Sucious proved that the starting lineup they finally have, can be dangerous as well. Finally the Bagelman's "A" squad showed up with a cast of characters ranging from NFL hopefuls and 6ft 7in wide receivers who have speed. They played a great game and won by a convincing 14 points. If the A squad comes out to play every week, Bagelman will be heard from again and potentially turn the season around. Just hope all the studs can make 4 games to be playoff eligible :)
The defensive mvp of the week is Mr Fusco of team New Fairfield. His great coverage in defense allowed him to have interceptions and set New Fairfield up for scoring opportunities. The offensive mvp of the week was the Bagelmans offense. I dont know some names, and i never saw a bunch of them yet this season, but I know they played well together.

Nice week 2 everyone! We had some great games this week and a few close upset bids as well. Allacci Island defeated Bagelman with a balanced attack and good line play, Destroyers defeated Los Sucios who only fielded 6 in convincing fashion, Team New Fairfield won another game with good all around play, and solid physical domination up front, and finally Pace survived a scare and pulled out another nail biter against bad news beers.
The defensive MVP goes to Mike Verbasco of the Destroyers who intercepted Los sucios qb twice, scored a defensive touchdown, and recorded several tackles. The Offensive MVP goes to another Destroyer Mike Zemsky who had 2 deep touchdowns, and had 7-8 catches in the game. Any other good performances were in a losing effort, so it was tough to out do any of these candidate.

Well good first week of football gentleman. Congrats to the winners of week 1 : Ballhawgs defeated Destroyers in a close battle that was won with a minute remaining, Alacci Island murdered Bad News Beers by a good 20-30 points, Pace won a overtime thriller against one of our new teams Los Sucios, and Team New Fairfield added another tree to their already monster front line, and won a battle against Bagleman in the final game of the day.

Offensive MVP of the week was the QB of Alacci Island Jeff Rich, who threw for several touchdowns, while scrambling and eluding would be tacklers. Jeff was in control of the game throughout and kept the pedal down in a route of the Bad News Beers.

Defensive Mvp was Big John of Pace who constantly hounded Leon the Qb of Los Sucios. There was no pocket to utilize for Leon, as Big John was in the backfield on nearly every snap, and also made a game saving tackle behind a first down marker.
