Week 3 of Maine baiting season is here, and what a start!

By Day 2 of Week 3, we’ve already tagged 5 bears with 13 hunters. What an accomplishment, and a true reflection of the dedication and hard work of the entire Grand Lake Hunt team!

For an outfitter to be truly successful, it takes a well-oiled team that works together and stays in sync in every aspect of the operation. Scoring over 400 inches with 20 points, with main beams measuring an impressive 46 inches and brow tines measuring 18 inches each, this is truly a stag of a lifetime!

Ronald, congratulations on your beautiful 3.5-year-old bull bison! 🦬

Weighing in at over 1,200 pounds and yielding approximately 400 pounds of young bison meat, that’s one heck of a harvest!

On top of that, you made a great shot and a clean, successful harvest. Congratulations again, my friend!

With Week Two officially in the books, we’re already looking forward to Week Three! 🐻🔥

We’ve had a really good start to the season so far:

Week One: 11 for 13
Week Two: 7 for 9

That’s 18 out of 22 — not a bad way to kick off the season!

Here’s a little preview of some of the bears we’ll be hunting this week. With the weather starting to cool down, things are shaping up for what should be another awesome week in the woods.

We’re excited to get after it and see what Week Three brings. Stay tuned for more pictures, updates, and hopefully some more successful hunts!

What an incredible father-and-son hunt! 🦌

Andrew and Xander came all the way from Florida to chase red stag, and they made it one heck of a trip!

Andrew took a beautiful mid-400-inch stag, while Xander put the perfect shot on a mid-300-inch stag. Both guys made incredible shots and put together a hunt to remember.

We couldn’t have asked for a better time. Great hunting, great memories, and even a little birthday celebration for the young man while he was here! 🎂

It was an absolute pleasure having you both here. Thank you for making the trip and sharing such a special hunt with us.

Grover, what a pleasure it was having you here again! We truly appreciate all the years of your friendship and patronage at Grand Lake Hunt.

Year one, you took a trophy bison. Last year, you got yourself a nice bear. And this year, it’s meat for the freezer! Congratulations on your two hinds — that should make for some mighty good eating.

At 82 years young, you’re still getting after it! I can only hope to have your energy when I reach that age.

What a monster of a stag, pushing 500 inches, boasting 30+ points and some incredible 20-inch brow tines! 🦌🔥

A true beast to be reckoned with, no doubt about it.

And what a great shot with the new .300 PRC! This was my first encounter with the round, and after seeing what it can do, I’d say it’s definitely something to be reckoned with as well.

One heck of an animal and an unforgettable experience! 💥
