Tryouts for the 2024-2025 DHS Golf Team will take place at Turtle Run on August 12, 2024 from 3:30 to 5:00 PM.

The first practice will be Wednesday, August 14 with the same time and location. Parent meeting will take place following practice up on Snappers patio and will take no more than 15 minutes.

Anyone wanting to participate must be at tryouts on the twelfth and will need to be registered on 8to18 and have a physical updated or scheduled.

Please let me know of any conflicts or concerns.

Parent Meeting will be Tuesday (Aug. 8th) at Turtle Run following practice. Practice from 3:30 - 5. Meeting at 5:15.

I am very excited to bring back our annual Putt-A-Thon Fundraiser. Last year's Putt-A-Thon was a successful venture and offered us the ability to provide new tools to help and support current and future golfers alike within our program. Now, we start our quest to raise funds for a few main goals:

1. Being able to continually provide Viking golfers with the resources/equipment they need to make it through a golf season at a low/to no cost to them. As well as,

2. Provide regular community outreach opportunities to start cultivating younger golfers within our community and instill the essential skills they will need before they reach DHS through camps and other team experiences.

Please consider supporting the team as we get ready for this upcoming event on 9/10/2022 in which each golfer will be putting 400 putts to raise money for the team. You can see the attached document above or in short:

If you wish to donate as an INDIVIDUAL - You have two options:
You can pledge to donate a certain amount per putt made of the 400 (ex. $0.10 pledge per putt x 300 putts made by the golfer = $30 donation).
OR
You can simply give a flat donation to the team regardless of however many putts are made.

There is another option for sponsorships by businesses, but you can email me separately about this if you know of a business willing to support.

If you prefer to pledge over a straight donation, either let me know which golfer you would like to pledge money to for the Putt-a-Thon or inform me that you don't have a preference and I will assign it to someone.

Little by little, the Vikings are seeing improvement as the season moves forward. This weeks showings include a (410) at Urbana Country Club and a 9-Hole (201) at Turtle Run. The Vikings play next at U of I for the Charger Invite on Monday (8/22).

Starts tomorrow! Any high school boy or girl is welcome! Please be at Turtle Run Golf Course at 10:30 for sign in and information prior to tryouts.
