To Our DIG Family-
It is with great sadness that we must inform you that we will temporarily be closing our doors for the health and safety of our community. With our nation and much of the world currently battling COVID-19, we have taken the recommendation from our President, the CDC, and medical health professionals to practice social-distancing and self-quarantine.
We will be closed from TODAY, MARCH 17th THROUGH SUNDAY, MARCH 29TH. The current plan is to reopen on Monday, March 30th. We will continue to monitor the situation and will reevaluate our opening date as necessary.
If your athlete is currently enrolled in a recreational class, please call or stop by the front desk AFTER March 30th to schedule make-up classes.
We appreciate your flexibility and understanding during this difficult time and ask that you keep our gym in your prayers. We are grateful for your business and eager to resume classes and practices at the end of the month should things allow us to do so. In the mean time, please keep your families healthy and safe.
Dear DIG Families,
Health and safety of our students and staff are very important to us. We are closely monitoring recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and other public health agencies.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to be a growing concern around the world, and remains an fluid situation. Our hearts go out to those who have been impacted by this virus, whether because of the illness itself, or the disruption and complication to your daily lives.
All programs will run as scheduled:
Gymnastics Classes
Competitive Gymnastics Teams
Tumbling & Trampoline
Ninja
Open Gym / Parties
Here are some things that will help all of us out:
(1) In addition to our regular cleaning schedule, help us by having your child wash their hands prior to class.
(2) All staff and coaches will be washing their hands before and after every class.
(3) Please stay home; (a) if you are sick, and/or (b) if your child is sick, and/or (c) someone else in your home is sick.
(4) We know that it is hard for kids to miss a class. DIG is pleased to offer your child, after they are well again, a make-up lesson for missed classes.
(5) If you feel at all uncomfortable attending class we completely respect your decision, just schedule a make-up lesson.
(6) If your family is traveling out of state for Spring Break, please consider keeping your child home afterwards . Again, simply schedule a make-up lesson.
We will continue to monitor the state and country health departments as well as the CDC for updates but this is our plan for right now.
Your continued enrollment is greatly valued and appreciated. We want to make sure that Danville Institute of Gymnastics can stay open in our community for many many years to come.
Please feel welcomed and encouraged to ask us questions, or provide us with any feedback or assistance.
Thank you for your understanding as we navigate through this.
Thank you ,
Angie Hack
Blessed are the flexible, for they shall never get bent out of shape.🙂
Hello DIG Gymnastics Family,
As I’m sure everyone is aware, we are currently experiencing a very aggressive public concern for the Corona Virus aka COVID-19. Whether or not this is serious is up to the perspective of each individual. But as the owner of Danville Institute of Gymnastics, it is my job to take every possible threat seriously, And so I have put together the following:
What are we doing?
- I have increased our cleaning from 3 days to 7 days per week of cleaning and to focus extra effort into door handles, light switches and chairs (they were already doing this but it’s best to clarify the priority).
- I have our “in gym” cleaning crew spending extra hours per week turning over each mat and applying extra mat cleaning product to each and every mat in the gym. The cleaning products include Simple Green and a special bacterial mat cleaning product called Truce (this is what we have always used). Keeping the mats clean was always a priority to me. We already have a weekly mat cleaning schedule , but I felt some extra attention couldn’t hurt. You will also see us using Lysol and Clorox wipes during and in between class.
- I have instructed the staff to remind all gymnasts to wash their hands and use sanitizer before and after classes. If you hear an instructor ask your child to do this, please do not be offended. All my staff will be instructed to wash their hands before and after EACH class as well.
- I have instructed all my staff to immediately contact me with any possible sickness symptoms they might be feeling.
What can you do?
- if your child has been sick or doesn’t feel well in any way, please contact the gym and keep them home until you’ve seen a doctor. Remember, you can always make up the class.
- please make sure your child is regularly washing their hands and changing clothes before coming into the gym.
What’s the worst case?
I have no intentions of closing the gym out of fear. We have always had and will always have a great working ethic at DIG. I rarely close the gym if I can help it. It would take multiple surrounding school closings and a discovered case of this virus being active in our building to temporarily close the gym. To which I would follow proper documented school protocols for re open. This is the absolute worst scenario and I do not believe it will ever come to this.
I believe that this too shall pass like everything we have been through so far. I will continue to address this as it develops if necessary. I know it’s difficult but I would advise everyone not to panic and remember that we are
I’ll see you at the gym!
