World Rabies Day

National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Sept 27

Gay and bisexual men accounted for 67% of new HIV diagnoses in 2022 in the U.S.

More than 600,000 of the 1.1 million people living with HIV in the U.S. are gay or bisexual men.

In 2023, 66% of new HIV diagnoses were attributed to male‑to‑male sexual contact.

Prevention and Health Strategies
• Get tested: About 1 in 6 gay and bisexual men living with HIV are undiagnosed. Testing options include clinics, pharmacies, and home test kits.
• Use prevention tools: Condoms, PrEP (pre exposure prophylaxis), and PEP (post exposure prophylaxis) significantly reduce HIV risk. PrEP awareness among MSM increased from 85% to 93% between 2017 and 2023.
• Get treated: Early and consistent HIV treatment helps achieve viral suppression, improving health and reducing transmission

Prevention Services is offering Pop-up Rapid REVIVE trainings for the rest of the year!

Rapid REVIVE teaches participants how to:
🔺Recognize signs of an opioid overdose.
🔺Respond to an opioid emergency.
🔺Administer Naloxone.
All within 15 minutes! 2 doses of Narcan will be distributed to participants over the age of 18.

In honor of Pregnancy, Infant, and Child Loss Awareness Month, we are asking any parents who would like to share their story, to reach out to us either via private FB message or email ([email protected]). We would like to share stories throughout October from parents who have experienced loss to raise awareness & remind others that they are not alone. You can choose to be anonymous if you’d like.🩷🩵

Parents will also be asked if they would like to share their contact information with the other parents who share their story to create a directory of those who have experienced this kind of loss to have a support system. You will NOT be required to share your contact information to participate.
