The Danville Iron are excited to announce the signing of forward, Braxton Harrold!

Braxton is joining us from the South Stars hockey program in Indiana! When asked about Harrold, Danville head coach Bo Cheesman stated,

“Braxton is a strong young player who has a tremendous opportunity in front of him. As a first-year junior player, he’s going to be challenged every day, and that’s exactly what we want for him. He has a solid foundation to his game, and now it’s about continuing to develop, gaining confidence, and learning what it takes to compete consistently at the junior level.

Having Braxton as a local player makes this even more exciting for our organization. We want young players from this area to see that there is a pathway to junior hockey right here in their own backyard. Braxton has the opportunity to represent his hometown community while continuing to grow as both a player and a young man.

He’s hungry to get better, he’s willing to work, and we’re excited to see where his game can go this season.”

The Danville Iron send our deepest condolences to the Florida Eels, their players, coaches, families, and entire organization following the tragic loss of Noah Ellington.

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected during this incredibly difficult time. Hockey is a family, and today, we stand with the Eels.

From the Iron family to the Eels family — we are thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers.

In Loving Memory of Noah Ellington

After speaking with Ellington family, the Florida Eels organization, coaching staff, players, and entire Eels family are heartbroken to learn of the unexpected passing of 2006-born Elite defenseman and Eels veteran Noah Ellington of Riverview, Florida.

Noah was a key member of the Eels Elite team during the 2025–2026 season, but his impact extended far beyond what he accomplished on the ice.

Noah was an exceptional young man with a genuinely giving heart. He was always willing to help others and give back to the community, including volunteering with the recreational and Learn to Play hockey programs at the Fort Myers Skatium. He gave his time freely, helping younger players experience and develop a love for the game that meant so much to him.

Noah was the type of young man every organization hopes to have represent its crest. He worked hard, never complained, and consistently showed up for his teammates, coaches, and community. Whatever was asked of him, Noah gave it his full effort and his whole heart.

Our hearts are incredibly heavy as we mourn the loss of a member of our Eels family far too soon. Noah’s presence, kindness, and character left an impact on those fortunate enough to know him, and he will be deeply missed.

The Florida Eels extend our deepest love, sympathy, prayers, and condolences to the Ellington family, as well as Noah’s teammates, coaches, friends, and everyone whose life he touched during this unimaginable time.

Once an Eel, always an Eel. Rest peacefully, Noah. You will forever be part of our Eels family.

An update on services for Noah will be shared when final arrangements have been made.
