A little quick info about something you may have noticed on our page. ❤️🥋
A lot of the photos we share publicly are AI enhanced, altered, or sometimes completely AI generated.
And there’s actually a very intentional reason for that.
We want to protect our kids.
We live in a world where we share so much online. Where our kids go. What activities they participate in. What days they’re there. Who their friends are. What they look like. Sometimes even where they’ll be next.
When you put enough little pieces together, it can become a whole lot of information about a child and their family.
At SCS, we try to be careful about that.
We LOVE sharing what happens inside our dojo. We’re proud of these kids, their accomplishments, the friendships they build and the incredible moments we get to witness.
But we don’t believe every one of those moments needs to be shared publicly with the entire internet.
That’s why our SCS families have a separate private, non-Facebook community where we can share dojo information, updates and more photos. Families can then decide what they are comfortable sharing from there.
When we do share publicly, sometimes we’ll enhance a photo, change identifying details, blur people in the background, or use AI to recreate the feeling of a moment without putting the actual child out there.
Is it perfect? Nope. Sometimes AI gives us an extra finger or does something completely ridiculous. 😂 But I’d rather laugh about an AI karate kid with six fingers than unnecessarily put one of our real kids at risk.
Because once a picture is on the internet, we lose a lot of control over where it goes and how someone else might use it.
The last thing we would ever want is for a photo of one of our students to be taken and used in a way that is harmful, inappropriate or downright despicable.
So if some of our photos look a little different, now you know why.
We’re still sharing the heart of SCS. ❤️
We’re just trying to be thoughtful about protecting the people who make SCS what it is.
Safe. Confident. Strong. 🥋
