Are all Parker hoses the same? NO!

We see a lot of people attempting to use Parker's hydraulic hose in breathing air applications. While the pressure rating does go up to 5,000 PSI the Parker 520 is not rated for Grade E breathing air and does not meet CGA or NFPA compliance.

Why you need a Grade E breathing air hose?

A Grade E breathing air hose is designed to meet the highest purity standards for compressed air used in life-support systems, especially in SCBA and SCUBA applications. It’s not just a “higher grade” — it’s a safety-critical specification that ensures the air you breathe is free from contaminants that could harm you or your equipment.

Using a hydraulic hose like the Parker 520 in such a role would violate safety standards, risk contamination, and could endanger personnel.

C.A.S.E. uses Parker 527BA for safety and reliability.

Some situations call for simplification. Replacing advanced electrical components can be costly and replacing the entire system doesn't make sense when the core components still function. This is conversion from a PLC operated unit to an analog unit operation. The unit still operates as intended with all original safety features including Securus. A little TLC and this compressor is ready to keep pumping!

Have an older compressor that needs a little care? We're here to help!

A reminder that regular compressor and fill station maintenance matters. ⚠️

During a recent service visit, an unexpected hose failure resulted in a minor injury to our technician. Thankfully, it was only a bruise—but it could have been much worse.

Even experienced technicians can encounter hazards when equipment has unseen issues or its condition isn't fully known. Regular inspections, proper communication, and timely maintenance can help identify potential problems before they become dangerous.

Don't overlook your equipment. Keeping your compressor and fill station properly maintained helps keep everyone safer. 🛠️

The Man, the Myth, the LEGEND himself👑
We know we probably say that a lot, but it still rings true every single time.
Our founder and president, Richard E. Batchelder, at work in his earlier years. He was among some of the first to teach recreational diving as PADI certified personnel (Instructor -11). There is so much history to this man, that we couldn't possibly list it all here.
Happy 😎

Nothing too exciting… just some tools, some compressor components, and a little hands-on maintenance.

Because when it comes to high-pressure breathing air, the little details matter. Keeping equipment properly serviced and maintained is all part of keeping your system ready to perform when it counts.

Another Tuesday down at C.A.S.E.! 💨
