Single-stage or two-stage? Both release the same hammer. The difference is what your finger feels on the way there.

Single-stage: one flat pull and a surprise break. Standard on mil-spec AR-15s and most hunting r***es.
Two-stage: a light take-up, then a firm wall you press through. Favored for deliberate long-range shots.

Several ALG Defense and Dissident Arms triggers come in both versions, so you choose the stage type on the product page.
