Truth is you didnât gain 5lbs of FAT over a weekend.
Your weight gain is do to carbohydrate restoring (prob from restriction from the week), and water weight.
So, donât beat yourself up this weekend if your a scale watcher.
A more effective way to gauge this is body fat testing.
The scale wonât tell you the whole story.

As you can see the training for strength and weight loss is the same.
A very common mistake when people decide to lose weight is change to much stuff up at one time!
Eliminate carbs, increase cardio, high rep circuits.
No!
Strength training.
yes!
You should always aim to get better/stronger with your weights thatâs how your body will change.
Although you may need to change volume(amount) of what you do, because energy may be lower because youâre on a diet.
You donât want to mess up your strength training for the sake of always trying to burn more calories.
Too much too soon.
Itâs all about balance and consistency.
