Yoga (asana) is a sneaky thing..๐
You think youโre in class sweating, stretching, getting strong, and working out.
But really, you are cleansing, creating space, grounding, solidifying and working in!
The physical part, thatโs the easy part, how many times have I said that in class? Itโs because itโs what I say to myself while Iโm practicing.
When Iโm in the hardest pose, or class, sweat dripping in my eyes, heart pounding, muscles twitching and burning, I think to myself, this is nothing, Iโve been through harder things. I just have to breathe, stay clam, stay focused, do my best (Iโm not gonna die ๐)
The truth is that as we hold the pose and work through the class, we get strong in our body (which is an awesome bonus) but the real work, is how strong we are getting in the mind. In those most difficult and challenging moments in class, weโre training our brain for the real work, off the mat, for the moments in LIFE when we need to be strong ๐ช๐ผ
Itโs in the struggle that we make the most change.
When stuff is hard, find the good.

JCC IN DAVIE!! All proceeds and donations will go to Blooming with Autism, to help children with Autism get the services they need!
Please join me, for some great hot yoga and some great giving from the heart (regular price for class, just giving it all away ๐ the more that come, the more we give!)
There is only one thing that a mother prays for (of course dads too)...that our children are healthy and happy. That they grow and thrive and love.
We may be different in our beliefs, our views, and our choices...but this is a universal prayer, wherever you're from, whatever you believe.
And just as we are all different in many ways, our children can be also...and sometimes they need different ways to grow and thrive and love.
My friend Jodi Davis is a woman that knows this, personally and professionally! She wants to help the moms, dads and kids that need help in getting the resources to receive the proven therapies and tools kids with different abilities desperately need!!

This weeks Yoga Pose is standing Bow Pulling Pose or Dandyamana Dhanurasana

Here as some benefits of this powerful pose :
Creates natural irrigation of the circulatory system โ transfers blood flow from one side of the body to the other
Clears plaque off artery walls
Helps to stimulate circulation through out the body
Eases back pain through compression of the spine
Improves elasticity of the spine
Tones hips and buttocks
Trims and strengthens the thighs
Strengthens the ankles and knees
Opens the shoulder joints
Helps alleviate carpal tunnel, arthritis, tennis elbow

Half Moon or Ardha Chandrasana is this weeks yoga pose.
The goal of half-moon is to create lateral flexion (side bending) of the spine in a continuous arc that extends from the heels to the fingertips.
Spine flexibility is the fountain of youth...dial back the clock!
Benefits of Half Moon:
Trims fat all over the body: thighs, hips, waist, buttocks, arms and abdomen.
Improves and strengthens every muscle in the central part of the body, especially the back and abdomen.
Increases flexibility of the spine
Helps release tension in the respiratory system
Corrects bad posture
Promotes proper kidney function
Helps cure enlargement of the liver and the spleen
Helps cure dyspepsia and constipation
Helps to alleviate lower back pain, bronchial distress, scoliotic deformities, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder
Realigns spine
