I love this backbend on my Contrology bb Reformer! It’s been such a journey to finally reach the footbar after so much practice. Learning how to use my hips and lower back to move the reformer feels like such a win! While backbends on the reformer aren’t for everyone, the beauty of Pilates is that there’s always another spot in the studio to explore and celebrate your backbends. The Down Stretch: It’s all about the back! As I press the Reformer carriage out, my lower back engages to push away with strength! On the return, I resist the springs, using my upper back to bring the carriage in with intention and lift. It feels amazing to find two-way stretch! Challenging, yet rewarding! .
