Join us at 12:30pm at the UC Davis Powwow to honor the life of our long-time Master of Ceremonies, Tom Phillips, with a Blanket Dance, Empty Chair, and Honor Song, expressing our utmost gratitude for the hard work and dedication Tom has shown to the UC Davis Powwow committee and community throughout the many years. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during these difficult times.

Join us for the 50th Annual UC Davis Powwow this Saturday, April 4th, 2026! As, we get closer to our event we kindly ask you to attend with respect and proper protocol, through following our Powwow Etiquette:

General Respect and Conduct

- No alcohol, drugs or being under the influence

- Appropriate dress and behavior are required.

- Be mindful of elders and community members with accessibility needs.

The Arena

- Do not enter the arena once it has been blessed

- Intertribal dances are open to all

- Listen to the MC.

Photography, Video, and Recording

- Do not take photos or videos during prayers, blessings, or certain songs.

- Ask for permission before taking photos or videos

- Do not record drum songs

With heavy hearts, we share that Tom Phillips Sr. passed away, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Tom's Go Fund Me will now go toward honoring Tomโ€™s wishes to be brought home to Oklahoma, and to support Wanda with travel and related expenses so she can be with him and family during this time.

Culture Week 2026 is here! ๐ŸŽ‰

Join us for a week of community, culture, and celebration at UC Davis from March 30 โ€“ April 4. From workshops and wellness events that lead up to Big Time and Powwow!

Tom Phillips, Sr. has been a major pillar of the UC Davis Powwow and other countless powwow across California and beyond, bringing people together, honoring traditions, and upholding culture, protocol, and respect.

Today, Tom is in hospice care. His family is asking for support from community to ensure he is cared for with the same love, generosity, and dignity that he has shown to so many throughout his life.
