So grateful that I got to hit the track for the first time in 9 months and drive! Hit up bluemax kart club in Davis Ca for the first time. Did lots of testing after changing the setup considerably from the old environment I was used to. Kart seemed quick with the new baseline. This track has lots of character! Elevation changes, bumps, dust, and lots of rubber laid down keeps me on my toes as a driver.
Gotta thank my friends Scott Deselms and Big Mike for wrenching with me this morning to get the kart ready.
Not sure how my speed compares to the locals but one thing is for certain… I’m out of shape 😂 Gonna have to work out again so I can connect the driving I see in my head with my body a bit better. Not too bad though. Best 3 laps on both configurations I drove today were within a hundredth. Not too shabby for first time driving both. It was also the first time driving on evinco blues in 3 years. Hadn’t driven the new h2’s before but liked em. They seem to fire off a little quicker and stay consistent.
Got work to do. Always learning and growing, never entitled to anything. We gotta apply ourselves to excel and I think in this environment I’ll have to work harder than ever before to do well. Excited to get a couple races in before the season is done. 😁 Can’t believe I’m driving and soon to be racing in California. Feels like a dream come true or a movie.
Thanks always to the people who make quality products for me to do well with. Grateful for you all:
