Your Coach Cannot Want It More Than You

In wrestling, there is a fundamental misunderstanding that quietly limits progress.

The belief that motivation can be outsourced.

A coach can provide structure.
A coach can provide knowledge.
A coach can provide correction.

But there is one thing a coach can never provide on your behalf: desire.

Wrestling is not a sport where effort can be delegated. The mat records everything. Every missed repetition, every compromised stance, every moment where discomfort was avoided rather than embraced.

A coach may see your potential clearly. Often more clearly than you see it yourself. But potential is irrelevant without voluntary suffering. And suffering, by its very nature, must be chosen.

If your coach is more frustrated by your losses than you are, the system is already broken.
If your coach is more excited about your progress than you are, the ceiling has been set.

The best coaches understand this paradox: they guide relentlessly, but they demand ownership absolutely.

Wrestling rewards those who take responsibility not only for their performance, but for their preparation, recovery, mindset, and habits away from the room. No whistle can force that. No speech can substitute it.

The moment you decide that someone else is responsible for your outcome, you step off the path of mastery.

A coach can open the door.
Only you can walk through it.

And in wrestling, the athletes who reach the highest levels are never the ones whose coaches wanted it most. They are the ones who matched instruction with obsession, guidance with personal urgency.

Because in the end, the mat does not respond to encouragement.
It responds to commitment.

LETS GO. Its about that time. Wrestling is almost upon us. Get the mat rust off and let's get the season started off right. Come learn from Mike Kenny Jr.
Mike was a two time State Qualifier and a state placer (5th) for Chaminade Julienne. Camp will consist of a variety of topics, drills, and techniques that will assist wrestlers in their preparation for the upcoming wrestling season. Live wrestling will be held at the end of camp.
Camp has a suggested donation of 25.
