An interesting thing happened to me recently that led to an interesting thought.
While at the pool, I overheard some people commenting on how much time it must take to look like that. They assumed I must focus my entire life on my physique and that I probably "live at the gym."
It got me thinking:
Well… first of all… “uh… no.” Not even close.
What do I actually do? I set aside 4 hours out of the 168 hours in my week to dedicate to being physically active.
That’s it. That’s all the time it takes. Now, I absolutely pay attention to my diet, nutrition, sleep, and stress, but that doesn’t cost me any "extra" time.
Honestly, it probably doesn't cost any of us extra time.
It doesn’t take more time to make a better food choice. It doesn’t take more time to pick out better groceries, and it certainly doesn’t take any more time to eat healthily than it does to eat junk.
I haven’t crunched the actual numbers, but if you calculated how much time the average person spends waiting in line at a drive-thru or a coffee shop, I bet you’d find that preparing wholesome meals at home—or even on the go—takes less time than sitting in your car.
Think about it… it’s not about being obsessed with your physique by working out 4,000 times a week or surviving on wheatgrass smoothies. It’s about time management.
Think about it. It doesn’t take extra time to make better decisions regarding your nutrition, your sleep, or how you handle stress. It just takes better decisions. The only real "management" involved is setting aside a few hours out of your 168 to give back to yourself, which allows you to spend the other 164 hours feeling twice as good as you would have otherwise.
Think about it.
It’s choices.
Not time.

How many people can relate to these??
I know my clients have done more than a few of these!!! 💪🤣👍
The most important thing right now in the pursuit of truth, knowledge, and science is to possess the empowerment to discern when someone else is completely full of s**t.

For some reason I don’t share stuff like this as often as I should… 🤔
Anyways, it’s frequent comments like this that remind me of the true real world value of taking care of your own vessel. I want to say that not one hour goes by that I don’t somehow unintentionally benefit from putting aside 4 hours a week for my physical and mental well-being.
It’s reminders like these that are just another reason to push ourselves to keep going. And more importantly, it’s a reminder to the people that put in the work for themselves and see that work and time exponentially overlap into our daily lives and quality of life.
You all 🤘.
