SCOUTS TOP AVIATORS IN WALK-OFF FASHION
The Xenia Scouts moved into a tie for third place in the standings with a walk-off win Wednesday night. After carrying a 3-1 lead into the seventh inning, the Aviators rallied for three runs to take a one-run lead into the bottom half. Down to their final out with two runners on, Lou Ryan stole home on a throwback to the pitcher to tie the game. Keegan Hart followed with a single to drive in Alex Schulke for the game-winning run.
Hart was the starting pitcher for the Scouts, tossing four scoreless innings while allowing just one unearned run. Schulke picked up the win in relief, throwing three innings with four strikeouts. The Scouts overcame defensive miscues that led to four unearned runs. Schulke also helped himself at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Hart finished 2-for-3, while Hayden Arndst went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Levi O’Connor took the ball for the Aviators and delivered four innings, striking out four while allowing three unearned runs. Caden Hargis made his debut in relief and struck out five over 2.2 innings. Braydon Black led the offense with a 2-for-3 performance and an RBI. Jackson Lightcap and Ben Fitch each added a hit and an RBI to round out the offense.
RANGERS HAND WOLVES THEIR FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON
