🏆💗 What a weekend for McGovern Irish Dance! 💗🏆

Our dancers took the stage at the Lake Erie Feis and represented McGovern with confidence, determination, and incredible sportsmanship. From first-time competitors to experienced dancers, we couldn't be prouder of the hard work, courage, and heart everyone brought to the stage.

🎉 Congratulations to all of our dancers on your outstanding results, and a special shout-out to everyone who leveled up this weekend! Every new level is a testament to your dedication and the hours you've spent in the studio.

A huge thank you to our amazing families for your support, our teachers for their guidance, and our fellow dancers for cheering one another on every step of the way. The McGovern family truly shines both on and off the stage.

Tonight, our teaching team enjoyed dinner together at Oliver's Beer Garden here in Erie after a great first day of competition. We couldn't help but smile when we saw this sign.
"Don't Give Up the Ship" is a famous phrase from the Battle of Lake Erie, reminding us to stay determined and keep moving forward—even when things get tough.
It felt like the perfect message for our McGovern dancers.
Whether today brought personal bests, lessons learned, or simply the excitement of being on stage, tomorrow is a brand-new day with more opportunities to shine. Keep your heads high, trust your training, cheer on your teammates, and most importantly, have fun!
We're so proud of every dancer who has represented McGovern Irish Dance this weekend. Now let's finish strong together—one more day to go!

This weekend, our dancers are heading to Erie, Pennsylvania to compete at the Lake Erie Feis and Ruby Royale Feis!

From first-time competitors to seasoned champions, each dancer has worked hard to prepare for this exciting weekend. We are incredibly proud of every member of Team McGovern and can't wait to see them take the stage with confidence, determination, and joy.

☘️ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆?

Quite a bit, actually.

As I was reflecting on the Fourth of July this year, I realized that one of the greatest gifts we have as Americans is the freedom to celebrate not only our own heritage, but the cultures and traditions of people from around the world.

As the owner of McGovern Irish Dance, I never take for granted that I have the opportunity to build a business doing what I love, teach a tradition that began across the Atlantic, and watch children from all backgrounds fall in love with Irish dance.

From dancing at Dayton's A World A'Fair alongside performers representing cultures from every corner of the globe, to sharing the stage at Celtic festivals throughout Ohio and Indiana, we're reminded that preserving one culture doesn't diminish another—it enriches us all.

This Independence Day, I'm grateful for the freedom to teach, to learn, to lead, and to celebrate the traditions that connect us.

Watching families create memories on and off the dance floor is one of the greatest joys of what we do. And for those who join us without relatives already dancing... don't worry—you'll quickly find your dance family here too. 💕
