Annie – 15-Year-Old, 14.2 HH Gray quarter horse Mare
Annie is a 15-year-old, 14.2 HH gray mare with a solid ranch horse foundation and experience doing a little bit of everything. She has been shown in ranch horse classes and has many of the buttons you want in a well-rounded ranch horse, including the side pass, rollback, collection, and more.
Annie is currently part of our lesson program and has had many different ages and experience levels ride her. She is the type of mare that can step up and work when asked, but she can also slow things down and take care of a rider.
Annie is not a push-button horse for a brand-new rider. When she gets a new rider, she may test them a little to see what she can get away with and whether they know how to ride. Once she understands that her rider knows what they are doing and establishes that relationship, she settles in and goes to work. She does best with a rider who is confident, consistent, and knows how to appropriately correct her when she tests.
Annie has participated in horse camps, birthday parties, county fairs, local saddle club events, and other community activities, just to name a few. At saddle club events, she has jumped and run barrels, although she is not currently patterned.
She has also been exposed to cattle through farm/ranch work. This is general cattle exposure and handling experience, not cattle-show or cow-horse competition experience.
She has been on numerous trail rides, including Chickamauga Battlefield, Enterprise South, and local trails around the ranch. She is safe on the road and has experience crossing highways.
Annie is currently barefoot, but has worn shoes in the past. She has also had a few babies.
She is up-to-date on all of her vaccinations and was recently trimmed 9/10.
