The City of Daytona Beach is offering free youth basketball clinics for youth ages 6 to 17 at the Cherry Cultural & Educational Center and Yvonne Scarlett-Golden Cultural & Educational Center this fall.

With clinics beginning at 5:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23 at the Cherry Cultural & Educational Center, participants will learn the basic fundamentals of basketball including passing, dribbling, shooting and defense. Strength training is beneficial for all ages! There is a common conception that weight training for youth athletes has the potential to damage growth plates. It has been proven that a proper strength training program appropriate is beneficial for coordination, stability, and injury prevention. It is our job to make strength training programs for athletes that are effective and specific to their age and athletic ability! Our athletes know that strength is the foundation of everything that they do, this is why they love the weight room so much!
