Here is a schedule of some clinics and private track rentals around Tulsa the week of the grands.
Want to join the sport of BMX? To keep it short check out the USA BMX website at usabmx.com to find a track near you. Then find a way to contact the track (usually social media) to get their schedule.
Some tracks offer classes or an open house kind of thing, but most will have you come out on an open practice night for your first time to the track. Bring long sleeves and pants. If you have a bike from home, best to bring that no matter the style of the bike.(unless its a road bike) The tracks dont always have bikes but when they do, it is going to be the 1st time you or your rider sit on that bike. So that means not only will you be trying to get use to the track for the 1st time but also get use to the bike for the 1st time as well. Most tracks have helmets but if you have a full face helmet of your own, bring that. Half shell helmets are allowed but not encouraged. Other than that you should be good to go for your first trip to the track.
First tip for first time riders. Look where you want your bike to go. That means no staring at other riders beside you on the track, keep your eyes looking ahead, and turn your head in the corners to eye up your exit. Good luck and have fun.
