If you have been to Hildene in Manchester you know they are famous for their peony gardens in spring. However, fall is just as beautiful with zinnia and dahlia blooms interspersed in the peony foliage. A beautiful place any time of year, and a scenic ride from the lodge.

Amazing run of Indian Summer, with temps up to 70 all week up here on the mountain. Yet the first snowfall is forecast on November 1!

Changes coming! The Stratton Town Forest has sat idly by across from the lodge for years. Now, in cooperation with the Town of Stratton, the Southern Vermont Trails Association (sovta.org) is developing a mountain bike and backcountry skiing pod. The bike truly look challenging, and I KNOW the skiing can be good! Check 'em out.
Just over 10 years ago southern Vermont was devastated by the remnants of hurricane Irene. Today the same area is being devastated by another storm. Rte 100 in Ludow is a sea of mud. Rte 30 between Manchester and Londonderry is closed, and Londonderry is under water. Wilmington is again under water, and the rain is continuing.
