So today I challenge you, do one thing that you truly enjoy that is just for you. Not for a goal, not for acknowledgement, just something you enjoy doing. 🥰
Enjoying life is what makes the journey worth it, remember that next time you’re feeling stuck and like everything I falling apart.

Transformation: Holiday Edition 🎄
These photos are from every holiday season Josh and I have been together 🥰
And as happy as I was in those moments, they’re hard to look back on now.
I didn’t hate myself, but I also didn’t love myself. That is until the last one 🥰
Your journey is about more than the workouts, about more than the nutrition, and 1000% about more than the number on the scale.
Your journey is about an all around transformation. You need the mental aspect just as much as you need the physical.
If your mind isn’t in it, and dedicated to it, you’ll be in the never ending yo-yo cycle you more than likely have come to accept as normal. 🙄
If the only reason you’re on your journey is because you hate yourself, you’ll never make it.
Learn to love yourself and love the things you are doing for yourself, and suddenly those things you once thought of as chores or miserable will be the things you look forward to and can’t miss 🥰
The scale isn’t going to make you love yourself, neither is the size of your pants. 🤷♀️

🛑 Mistake 3 in my Holiday Mistake Series🛑
OVERINDULGENCE...
✅It is OK to have a piece of pie
✅ It is OK to have your favorite holiday beverage
🛑 It is NOT OK to eat an entire pie for yourself
🛑It is NOT OK, to eat/drink until you feel like you're about to explode.
Listening to your bodies signals is an important part of intuitive eating, so when you're full. Stop eating.
✅If you don't want something, don't have it.
✅If you do want something that is less nutrient dense, Allow yourself that thing, but don't overindulge
🛑DON'T chow down on your entire stocking first thing Christmas morning.
✅ DO Try and eat something substantial and protein packed before you pick up that mimosa or candy bar.
The more protein you have, the less room you have to overindulge on the less nutrient dense stuff.
These are all things that are a part of intuitive eating ways.
Learning the do's and don'ts of enjoying food freedom but still keeping your results in mind can be complicated, which is why I created my "Quick Guide to Intuitive Eating".

🛑Mistake 2 in the Holiday Mistake Series🛑
Stopping Any Form of Movement
I use to treat the holidays like a vacation from work. If I was off, I was OFF.
Instead of just trying to be more active (Going for a walk, stretching, etc). I would pull the "New Year, New Me" Card and say it was my time indulge and be lazy before I hit it hard in the new year.
SPOILER ALERT🔮
IF I made it off the couch after new years, it never lasted long.
You don't have to go ham during the holidays.
You're busy, we're all busy. You don't have to be in the gym every day,
JUST GET UP, AND GET MOVING.

3 MISTAKES I'VE MADE IN MY FITNESS JOURNEY: HOLIDAY EDITION
🛑 Mistake 1: 🛑
Thinking I needed to EARN The Food I Was Eating
The holidays are full of food, treats, family, and happiness...
BUT...They are also full of people that think that in order to have that piece of pie or their stocking full of candy, they need to go workout before they do anything.
Look at the people who go and run 5ks on every holiday....Trying to Earn their food.
You could be miserable the whole way, but you're still going to do it cause you want that roll at dinner.
I once....was this person.
✅ I'd join in on all the crazy workouts or runs. Even though I literally hated them all.
✅ I'd be frantically checking my gym hours to see if I could squeeze something in before going to family.
✅ I'd miss out on time with my hubs just so I could go burn off that Reeses I'd inevitably have.
But Now, Thanks to some great coaches and people in my life, I've learned and preach:
YOU DO NOT NEED TO EARN YOUR FOOD!
You also don't need to tell yourself that you can't have those rolls or that pie.
..
EAT THE DAMN FOOD........ Enjoy yourself. Enjoy your time with your family.
If you don't want something don't have it, but don't miss out on something you do actually want just because you think you need to say no to see results.
