With the cooler temperatures today we are taking the opportunity to deep tine greens. This will give the roots some fresh oxygen before we head into the dog days of summer. We will roll behind and playability will not be affected.

Golf Course Update

With the heavy rains on Monday aerification was pushed back a day or so. We finished deep tining greens yesterday and are working on finishing up tees today. We will be starting on fairways today. Fairways will take a couple weeks to finish. We will not pull any plugs this spring so we shouldn't have too much down time.

Professional Outdoor Solutions was pushed back a day, they are on site today starting with #17 bunker. We are also redoing bunkers on #6/ #16. Shaping should be finished by this weekend and next week we are getting sod for these areas.

We were able to get sod delivered Monday before the rain to finish up our new tees on 13,14,16,18. We did this work on Tuesday.

Today we are working on seeding #4 front approach where we installed drainage this spring. We will be covering the area back up for a couple weeks to push germination. We will also be touching up and sodding the left approach that was torn up by aerification last fall. We will also be seeding and covering #11 (old bunker)

We definitely have a lot going on this week and next but it will be well worth it in the long run.

Golf Course Update

Next week will be a busy week for us, we are closed Monday and Tuesday for aerification. We also have Professional Outdoor Solutions coming in on Monday to start work on #6, #16, #17 bunkers. The areas will be played as ground under until we get the work completed.

Thank all of you who played in the Deadwood Classic a couple weeks ago. The funds will be going towards this project.

Tonight is the night for the trail fee raffle and it's not too late to buy more tickets. We are giving away one trail fee and one SSCC cart rental for the year.

Golf Course Update

Hello Golfers

I'm sure most of you are tired of being inside and would like to get out on the course. I am definitely ready to be outside!

Earlier this week the snow melted off and made the ground soft and mushy, with the freezing temperatures last night we are frozen again. We need to thaw out completely before we can allow play on the greens to prevent root shear. We do not want any damage to the root system that will set us back for the year.

Next week I will monitor course conditions to see if we can get out and play. We have to remember it is only February and have a full season ahead of us.

Course update

Over the next week I'm sure we will have a lot of questions regarding if we will open up next week, so we are getting ahead of it now. Due to the 20+ inches of snow and now rain the course will remain closed the rest of December. If the weather continues to be above normal in January and we dry out, we will reevaluate course conditions. Thank you for a wonderful year, I am already looking forward to 2026.
