South Side Green and Grounds

Course update

Over the next week I'm sure we will have a lot of questions regarding if we will open up next week, so we are getting ahead of it now. Due to the 20+ inches of snow and now rain the course will remain closed the rest of December. If the weather continues to be above normal in January and we dry out, we will reevaluate course conditions. Thank you for a wonderful year, I am already looking forward to 2026.

Course Update

As many of you know #4 fairway was killed off and seeded to bentgrass this fall as a trail. We covered it with a growth blanket and just pulled the cover yesterday to spray fungicides for snow mold. I was happy to see the grass coming along as well as it has in a short amount of time. Feel free to hit off the area over the next couple days. Next week we will place the blanket back for the winter.

Since we sprayed all short grass surfaces we are done mowing for the year. This will help keep fungicides on the plant. We will cut cups as needed.

We will continue mulching leaves.

I hope you can get out and enjoy the next couple days you never know what mother nature has in store for us.

Golf Course Update

The golf course will be closed today due to freezing temperatures over the last few nights. With high winds expected today it's not going to be a very nice day out.

Tomorrow our grounds crew will be mulching and blowing leaves as soon as we can get outside. This will take a couple days to complete so please be patient. Our goal is to get the leaves mulched up so you can enjoy the nice weather later in the week.

Grounds Update

Just a friendly reminder aerification will begin next Monday/ Tuesday (course closed). We will start on greens/ tees and fairways over the next couple weeks.

We will be doing some tee box construction on #16 green and orange tees this week.

Millikin Lady Golfers will be helping out on Sunday Morning (10:30 am) filling divots and fixing ball marks.

With the cooler temps the last few days we pulled the trigger on deep tining the greens. This will help give the roots some much needed oxygen from a brutal July. Will also set us up for some great fall golf.
