I just watched the doubles with the Williams sisters. I think the crowd was not applauding for the opponent win because their attitudes did but seem right? A bit too cocky for me throughout the match. And Peyton. She's just happy to win any match! Oops! Did I say that?!!

I am so inspired about the pickleball players who stepped up and volunteered for the entire summer while I resolved issues from my house fire and while my son was in town for the summer. The sport continues to grow and every player absolutely loves the permanent pickleball courts. Come visit the Dottie Bridges Tennis & Pickleball courts at Flat Shoals Park. Take a walk. Most of the trail is shaded by lovely trees. Stay hydrated.

Sunday Fun Day!!!

Every Sunday evening is Pickleball Sunday Fun Day at Dottie Bridges. 4 pickleball courts of which 2 are permanent. Designed for all player levels and wheelchair players.
- Time: 5-8pm. (the time will change after the Fall daylight savings time change).
- Place: Flat Shoals Park, 4522 Flat Shoals Pkwy, Decatur.
- When: Every Sunday
- Skill level 3.25-4.25 Open Play
- Free
- Pop up play encouraged.
- Court sign up to reserve a day & time is available in the pickleball marquee outside court 1. Otherwise, contact some friends and just show up!

Today's celebration of life for pickleball Coach Virginia was lovely. She touched so many. Here's a picture of her Pickleball family saluting her by 'raising their paddles'. Become a player and join the family.

Dearest tennis family, it is with a sad heart that I share the loss of one of our players who on Monday, July 13, earned her heavily wings. 🕊️. We know her as Coach Virginia because she became a certified pickleball coach and simply put, loved it! Virginia had such a sweet sweet spirit. All that know her would surely agree.

I won't get into the details surrounding her death but will post her families wishes once known.

Juneteenth Pickleball at Dottie Bridges!!! I drove to this event today. Packed!!

Yea!! We now have improved Wayfinding signage to locate the courts within Flat Shoals Park. I hope you like the two examples. Come visit to play either tennis or pickleball, take a walk in the park and see the rest of the new signage. Much improved! Thank you to the leadership of the Friends of Flat Shoals Park and support from the DeKalb County Parks dept and our D3 Commissioner, Nicole Messiah. Good things happen with a vision is defined and implemented.
