Decatur Table Tennis

Surely EVERYONE knows Coach George Cooper. On August 13 (one day early) we celebrated his 79th birthday. George keeps Decatur Table Tennis running smoothly. He is a treasure. See pictures below.

Finally, Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) is having a promotion September 11-13. Check the flyers below. Let me know if you want to get a group together for the various MLTT events.

Each summer the table tennis club at Lucky Shoals hosts the Georgia Games. The games will be July 18-19. To learn more about it, click the link.

I hope you have a fun and SAFE July 4 celebration. I am pleased to announce we WILL be open on Sunday, July 5. This probably goes without saying...but...do not bring fireworks into the gym!

In other news, City of Decatur residents will now be asked for I.D. to prove residency. Having a Decatur address is NOT proof. You must reside in zip code 30030. City residents pay $5 per session. Others pay $10.

Once again, Decatur Rec. will be the site of DeKalb Senior Olympics--Table Tennis. The fun will start at
6 p.m., Tuesday, May 12. If you are 50+ years of age, please join us. For all the info, click below. Also, you can scan the code on the poster below. I know what you're thinking...but I assure you that I did NOT pay to be pictured on the poster.

DeKalb Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs

We will be closed this Sunday, April 5, for the Easter holiday. If you want to work off those calories resulting from that chocolate Easter bunny, you can visit our friends at AGTTA - Atlanta Georgia Table Tennis Association.

See you at the tables... just not on Easter Sunday.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Not surprisingly, we will be closed on Thanksgiving (Thursday, Nov. 27). However, you will be able to work off those extra calories on the Sunday following. Yes...OPEN on Sunday, Nov. 30. (Usual hours: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
