Great experience learning Jiu-jitsu at the Hero Academy with Tom DeBlass and Joey Baize. Met several awesome people and enjoyed some down time as well. What Ron is doing with Hero Academy is amazing allowing kids to learn this amazing art that otherwise would not be able to afford it.

Epic start to the week of training and learning at Hero Academy

Down in Costa Rica for a Hero Academy retreat got to train in one of my old students Costa Rica Academy. Only no-gi for the Hero retreat so I got to borrow Ian's Gi and belt. Always a pleasure to share Jiu-jitsu with cool people.

Another epic day at Gracie Decatur. All of our instructors and advanced belts put Molly and Tommy through 2 hours of stress to test for their purple belts today. Tommy started Jiu-jitsu in 2011. As a former collegiate football and wrestler his body has not always allowed him to train. Molly joined us as a 12 year old back in 2019. Quickly advancing to advanced kid classes, then our Women's only self-defense program followed by our co-ed program. As an advanced practitioner and amazing teacher she can now add the accolade of Purple belt in Gracie Jiu-jitsu. Thank you to everyone for making the day epic. Special shout out to my Tiger Academy of Martial Arts brother and sisters in attendance and Coach William Hill Jr for leading. Almost 8 years open and now 8 purple belts, the journey continues...

Had an amazing evening spending time with my Tiger Academy of Martial Arts brothers and Royce Gracie . Sharing stories with this group is always epic. Thank you Eddie for hosting.

We are closed next week for our annual summer break. Tuesday July 14th through Monday July 20th. Normal schedule back at it Tuesday July 21st.

We are excited to host Javier Vasquez Saturday August 15th, 1p tp 4p at Gracie Decatur. I met Javier at a Jiu-jitsu lifestyle retreat a few years ago and was wowed by his back attack system. He will be teaching that amazing system at Gracie Decatur. All ranks and affiliates welcome to share the knowledge.
