I help people regain and / or improve movement function so they can do what they want to do at an optimal level and without pain. I've had post-surgical clients who were rehabilitating rotator cuff repairs, spinal surgeries, tears to the labrum of the hip, and ACL repairs. Clients who recovered from traumatic brain injury. I’ve heard ‘experts’ say we lose muscle every decade after age 30. They’re forgetting something. 💪🏼❤️🧠
Cranial nerves, day 13. Stacking cranial nerves to influence back pain & range of motion. Planning to do a live cranial nerve class next weekend - drop me a ‘yes’ in the comments if it’s of interest! 💪🏼❤️🧠
Cranial nerves, day 12! Cranial nerve 12 is the hypoglossal nerve, which innervates the tongue. The tongue has muscular attachments in the throat and neck, and can be influential in providing relief to those areas. 💪🏼❤️🧠
Cranial nerves, Day 11! Cranial nerve 11, the Accesory Nerve, innervates your upper trapezius and your sternocleidomastoid. Spelling test next week. 💪🏼❤️🧠
Cranial nerves. day 10. SO much is written about the vagus nerve. We’re keeping it simple today with two easy drills to assess against. Something to note - engaging the sympathetic side is not the same thing as being in a sympathetic / fight or flight state. 💪🏼❤️🧠
Cranial nerves, day 9. The glossopharyngeal nerve doesn’t get much attention, because we usually swallow food & drink without even thinking. Having worked with older clients who could not easily get food down, it’s an important set of muscles to be aware of. 💪🏼❤️🧠
Cranial nerves, day 8. The vestibulocochlear nerve has a lot of available options, as it innervates both hearing and the vestibular system. Today’s ’yes-yes, no-no’ drill is a simple activation for part of the vestibular system. 💪🏼❤️🧠
Cranial nerves, day 7. A couple of options for your facial nerve. Try these in a mirror and note any differences between the right and left. If you find a deficit, does some sensory input help clean it up? 💪🏼❤️🧠
Cranial nerves, Day 6. This is a quick & easy exercise for your abducens nerve, which innervate the muscles that draw the eyeball from the center, outward. (Yes, you can also test this one eye at a time, and yes, you can test just the abduction / outward movement by itself) 💪🏼❤️🧠
