Today, we join the entire Waukesha County community in honoring the life and legacy of Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow.

Paul was a true supporter of the skating community and Waukesha County's ice arenas. Whether he was championing our park system or even taking a ride on one of our Zambonis, he always recognized the value our parks and recreational facilities bring to residents and families throughout Waukesha County.

We hope you'll join us for the community visitation celebrating Paul's life this evening, August 6, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Waukesha County Expo Center.💙

You don't have to be a hockey player or a figure skater to enjoy the ice. ❄

Sometimes, the best part of your local Parks & Recreation departments is simply having the opportunity to try something new! Whether you're stepping onto the ice for the very first time, returning after years away, or looking for a fun way to stay active, skating offers an opportunity to build confidence, enjoy the moment, and discover a new passion.

It's never too early... or too late... to learn something! That's the power of trying something new.

Join us for a public skate or adult and senior skate session and experience it for yourself. Learn more at https://www.waukeshacounty.gov/parks-and-land-use/parks-and-recreation/ice-arenas/

When people think about Parks & Recreation, they often think about opportunities to stay active. Synchronized skating is that, and so much more! ⛸🤝

Synchronized skating teaches skaters how to trust one another, work as a team, communicate, and move together toward a common goal. Every practice and performance helps build confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging.

Our ice arenas are proud to provide a place where synchronized skating teams can learn, grow, and inspire one another. That's the power of synchronized skating!

Many in our Ice community worked alongside, or had the opportunity to meet or know, Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow. Please see the details below for his Visitation Celebration on August 6 💚 It's open to all who wish to honor and celebrate his life.

The outpouring of love and support for Paul has been tremendous and is truly appreciated by his family and all who knew him. Today would have been Paul’s 62nd birthday. As we celebrate his heavenly birthday today, we also invite you to join us on August 6 for Paul’s “Visitation Celebration” at the Waukesha County Expo Center to celebrate his life. Details below.

The family’s wishes that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to WisconsinEye https://wiseye.org/donate/. The County Executive’s late mother, Former Lt. Governor Margaret Farrow, was instrumental in the creation of WisconsinEye, the state’s public affairs television network. As County Executive, Paul continued his mom’s advocacy for open government.

Hockey may not be the first thing that comes to mind when people think about Parks & Recreation. But hockey plays an important role in recreation throughout our community. 🏒⛸

Every practice and game helps build healthier individuals, stronger teams, and lasting connections. Our ice arenas provide a place where people of all ages can stay active, build confidence, develop teamwork, and create friendships that extend far beyond the rink. That's the power of hockey!
