We are excited to welcome Michael Miller to the Del Riv Executive Board! We look forward to working with him and appreciate him stepping up to assist us as we move Del Riv forward.

About Michael:

A Riverside resident, Michael has been a coach for six years, starting when his son joined 8U baseball. This season he coached at both ends of the program, leading the Yankees in tee-ball and the Babe Ruth team. He's quick to credit the assistant coaches, parents, and players who make each season possible. In his words, "Coaching is a team sport too."

Michael brings more than 20 years of leadership and operations experience to the Board. He is Executive Vice President of The JDM Group, and his career also includes owning his own business and serving as a Regional Operations Manager for an international records management company.

Michael also has a strong record of community service. He served on the Riverside Township Committee, where he chaired Economic Development and Public Events and was deputy chair of Public Works. He currently sits on the board of the New Jersey Treatment Incentive Program.

On the Board, Michael will help support our coaches, volunteers, and families so every child has a positive, fun experience in Del Riv Youth Sports.

The Del Riv Executive Board is excited to announce that Pete Barrera has joined our leadership team effective immediately. As you may know, we had several board members resign in the last few weeks-so we had an immediate need to fill the roll in order to continue to operate as an organization. We are excited to welcome Pete on board and thank him for stepping up to help out our youth sports program.

👉About Pete:

My name is Pete Barrera, I’m 33 years old and originally from Corpus Christi, Texas. I have been involved in youth sports for approximately six years, and I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact sports can have on kids, families, and the community.

I joined the United States Air Force in 2019 and have had the privilege of calling New Jersey home for the past several years. I currently reside in Delanco with my beautiful wife and our two children. Being a husband and father has given me an even greater appreciation for the importance of providing our children with positive experiences, strong role models, and opportunities to grow through sports.

Over the past two years, I have had the pleasure of being part of the Del-Riv Sports program, coaching 6th–8th grade boys basketball as well as Babe Ruth baseball. These experiences have allowed me to build relationships with our young athletes and their families while developing a deeper passion for the program and the community it serves.

I am excited for the opportunity to take the next step in my involvement with Del-Riv Sports. My goal is to help build a strong, sustainable program that keeps kids excited to participate, encourages families to get involved, and strengthens the connection between the league and our community. I want to leave a positive and lasting impact—not just for the athletes playing today, but for the generations of kids who will come through this program in the years ahead.

Some of our very dedicated 14U players didn’t let a downpour stop them from prepping for their games tomorrow. 🌧️⚽️

Tonight, I heard Coach Carlos tell them, “You’ll remember this practice in 20 years.”

&& they WILL‼️

Do you know what they won’t remember… the scores of tomorrow’s games. Win or lose.

Let this serve as a reminder to all our parents, fans, and families: THIS is what’s important for our players. The bonds. The friendships. The fact that they are middle schooler’s who all chose to spend their Friday night playing in the rain together.

Years from now, these are the moments they’ll talk about. && these are the moments we should be cheering for.

The only thing harder than stopping these superheroes on the soccer field? 🦸 ⚽️

Getting them all to look at the camera at once. 📸
