This week we are highlighting one of our sports officials Ian. Read below what he has to say about working at IM’s and what he likes the most.

What made you want to start refereeing intramurals?
-I refereed club and high school soccer a couple years ago and wanted to try it again here with intramural games.

After working in the job the last few weeks does anything jump out at you improvement wise?
- My ability to communicate with the team out on the field has improved greatly and I've gotten much better with the mechanics of flag football.

What has surprised you most about being an official?
- How much there is to learn about the sports we officiate. It's not just about the rules, there's a lot of nuance in how we should operate during the games.

What is something you are looking for moving forward as an official?
- Gaining more experience and taking different officiating positions on the field.
