If you’ve been trying to find the right words to explain this place to a friend — let us help.
It’s small. Intentionally small. Four or five people in a session, not thirty. Coaches who watch every rep and know your name on day one.
It’s not intimidating. Nobody’s performing. Everyone is at their own level and everyone is cheered on for exactly that.
The first visit isn’t a trial by fire. It’s a conversation. A look around. A chance to feel the room before committing to anything.
That’s what October 3rd is — a morning where walking through the door for the first time feels easy because your person is walking in with you.
DM us FRIEND and we’ll tell you both exactly what to expect. 💜
NIKA Athletics
We help people in DeLand over 50 lose weight and gain muscle! Our expert coaches guide you step by step, helping you feel confident and stay motivated.
Nika Athletics is a welcoming fitness community in DeLand, built for beginners who want to get stronger, move better, and feel healthier. Our small group workouts, personal training, and nutrition coaching make it easy to start, no matter your experience. No confusing machines, no pressure—just simple workouts, real results, and a supportive team to help you along the way.
Here’s something we’ve watched happen over and over:
Two women start together. They text each other the night before. They show up because the other one is expecting them. On the days one of them doesn’t feel like going, the other one is already there.
You don’t need a study to prove this works. You’ve felt it yourself — that a commitment made to another person is harder to break than one made only to yourself.
That’s the whole idea behind October 3rd's Bring A Friend.
Not a sales event. Not a bootcamp preview. Just a morning where you and your person can walk in together, see what this place is actually like, and make the decision together.
Because ‘we’re both in’ is a lot more powerful than ‘I’ll think about it.’
DM us FRIEND and we’ll get you both the details. 💜

She's been to a lot of gyms.
She's been bored, overlooked, guilted, and pushed aside.
At 71, she's gaining muscle, down 35 pounds, and making the kind of friends she never made at a gym in her life.
Amy's story is one of our favorites — and it's not because of the results. It's because of who she became along the way.
Swipe through to read it. 👉 💜
Find someone who lifts you up. 🏋️♀️
Preferably someone who will also lift weights with you.
This is what Bring a Friend looks like at NIKA — less rom-com, more deadlifts. And honestly? Better.
October 3rd we're opening the gym for you and your person. Come together, lift together, leave stronger together.
Who's yours? DM us FRIEND to join, and send this to your gym BFF. 💜
Do you want to join us?
Linnea went in with one condition: if it sucks, I’m leaving.
Now, one year and 190+ workouts later, she’s still here. Five days a week. Never looked back.
She didn’t find NIKA on her own. Her people brought her in.
If you have a person who’s been circling this — send them this post. October 3 is the day to walk in together.
DM us FRIEND. We’ll sort the rest. 💜
Think about the women you know who have made a change that actually lasted.
The ones who stuck with it. Who look and feel different than they did a year ago. Who stopped starting over.
Almost none of them did it alone.
They had a friend who dragged them in. A person who said, ‘come with me, just try it.’ Someone who made the first step feel less like a leap and more like just showing up together.
That’s not a coincidence. That’s how change actually works.
On Saturday, October 3rd, we’re opening NIKA to bring-a-friend visits — a chance to walk through the door with the person you’ve been meaning to invite, or to come with a friend and experience this together for the first time.
But here’s what we want you to know: you don’t have to wait for October 3rd to start. OnRamp begins every week. October 3rd is just the day we make it easy to bring your person along.
Who’s yours? DM us FRIEND and we’ll send you the details. 💜
The opportunity to start your OnRamp with NIKA ended this week when our last spot filled on Wednesday.
Here is something you can do today to start building momentum in preparation for September's OnRamp:
Audit your week for two windows.
Not perfect windows. Not hour-long openings with nothing else going on. Just two moments in your week — 45 minutes each — where a workout could realistically happen.
Anchor it to something: before school drop-off, after work but before you sit down, a lunch break that usually gets eaten by other things, Saturday morning before the weekend fills up.
Find two. Write them down. Put them on your calendar and name them like appointments.
That's it. That's the whole exercise.
Because here's what we've learned: the women who stick with it don't find time. They make it — by deciding in advance where it lives in their week before everything else fills in around it.
Two windows. That's your starting point.
If you want a coach to help you build everything around those two windows — sleep, protein, movement, strength — get a head start on everyone else for September's OnRamp.
DM us START and we'll get your welcome call scheduled so you get to start right away September 1st. 💜
We have only one spot left for the August OnRamp.
Four weeks of coached strength training built around your real life — not an imaginary calm season that isn't coming.
A kickoff conversation before you start so nothing is a surprise.
A simple weekly plan for sleep, protein, movement, and strength.
A small group of women doing the same hard thing at the same time.
And founding access to the Meal Prep Style Mapper — gone when this spot fills.
One spot.
Doors close Friday.
If that's you — DM us START right now. 💜

Angela will be the first to tell you — she was not someone who had her fitness life together.
When she started at NIKA almost 28 months ago, her personal and professional life were both in transition. She'd tried working out on her own before. Inconsistency was her pattern, not her exception.
She was also dealing with perimenopause, low back pain from a spinal condition, and tendonitis in both elbows.
She was, in her own words, a mess.
Her coaches knew she was the queen of procrastination and kept her on task anyway — scheduling workouts wherever they'd fit in her calendar until the habit took hold.
And then something shifted.
She doesn't remember exactly when it happened. But at some point, getting to the gym stopped being something she had to do — and became something she just does. Even after a full day of work. Even when life gets hard. Especially when life gets hard.
"These past two years have actually been incredibly challenging. My established routine allowed me to lean on those times in the gym — to set aside whatever was going on and simply focus on the workout. I always left feeling better than when I arrived."
Her body has changed too. She's stronger. She has more energy. She sleeps better. She's doing box jumps — something she couldn't do to save her life when she started — consistently and successfully.
And she's happier than she's ever been.
"I know that my physical, mental, and emotional well-being would be in much worse shape if I hadn't started when I did."
Two years out. Routine intact. Life still full and hard sometimes — and the workout still holding.
That's where four weeks leads.

Here's what we want you to understand about our OnRamp:
Four weeks isn't where the story ends. It's where it actually begins.
The goal of the first four weeks isn't to transform you. It's to build something sturdy enough to last.
👉 A routine that knows what to do when life gets crazy.
👉 A body that's starting to respond the way you want it to.
👉 A relationship with movement that doesn't fall apart the first time something goes wrong.
The women who are several months out from their start date aren't doing extreme things to maintain their results. They're just not stopping.
Because somewhere in those first four weeks, the routine stopped being something they had to force — and started being something they just do.
That's the shift we're building toward. Not a challenge you survive. A habit you keep.
Doors for our August OnRamp close on Friday.
Founding access to the Meal Prep Style Mapper ends with it.
Only one spot left.
