In a game that was much closer than the score indicates, the Tigersβ season ends today in a heartbreaker.
After both teams were held scoreless in the first, Delano took a 1-0 lead with #8 Dominic Mattilaβs five-hole goal as the second period clock read 1:42.
Minneapolis would storm right back, tying the game 1-1 roughly 15 seconds later.
The Storm continued to start the third, as they added another less than 30 seconds into the final frame to take a 2-1 advantage.
Another goal late in the period plus an empty-netter would be the daggers to end our season sooner than we had hoped.

The Tigers win a thriller!
After a scoreless first frame, the Trojans got on the board first less than four minutes into the second to take a 1-0 lead.
The first Tiger tally came with 2:56 left in the second period as #14 Lincoln Schmidt battled for a loose puck in front of the net and was able to slip it past the tendy to tie the game at 1-1 heading into the third.
Midway through the final frame, Wayzata was able to add another to jump in front 2-1.
With 1:07 remaining in regulation, the faceoff in the opposing end, and on the power play, the Tigers pulled Peterson for the 6-on-4 man advantage and it quickly paid off with #8 Dominic Mattila sliding one home to knot things up 2-2 with 59.1 seconds to go.
Overtime? Not so fast.
Mattila picked up the puck in the neutral zone and headed up ice on a 2-on-1 rush and made a perfect dish to #2 Nick Holmer who buried the game winner glove side on a quick snap shot with just 16.7 seconds showing on the game clock.
The Tigers score twice in the final minute, with the goals coming just 42.4 seconds apart for the 3-2 win and advance to the next round where they will face the winner of Minneapolis/Mound Westonka on Saturday afternoon.
What. A. Game.
