It's been a little over 6 months since I've had vsg. I am so proud of me for showing up and staying consistent. In the first couple of months, I really felt like having the surgery was a waste of efforts and it wasn't going to do anything for me. But, they call it a tool for a reason. If nothing else, this tool pushed me to be more active. It's helped my mental state with food. Instead of having the full bag of chips I opt for maybe just one or two chips. Just to satisfy that craving. Transparency, I may have deviated from my centers plan a couple of times in the first 6 months. But have maintained a strict low carb diet. The last couple weeks I've started to allow myself a treat or two here and there. This next chapter is going to be balance. 2023 I don't have a 'goal' weight or size. My goal is balancing selfcare, motherhood and work.

I would have never imagined, this is the life I get to live now 💕 at the beginning I was doubtful but I knew couldn't give up on me, my kids, my family.

I have tried so many times, I can't even kept track anymore. I been on a diet since I was 8 years old, always trying something new to not be fat anymore. All the diets worked, they helped me lose a ton of weight, but they were never long lasting. I would lose 20 lbs gained 40lbs, lose 40 lbs gained 60 lbs, until I reached my highest weight of 420lbs.

Something had to change, I was scared to admit to myself what I had become. But it was time, I asked for help and got weightloss surgery. This was the best decision for me. During this time I've learned to eat food to fuel my body and feel good about myself. I also fall in love with working out. Going to the gym and getting a workout makes me feel empowered, makes me feel in control of my destiny, makes me feel like I can accomplish anything I put my mind into.

I know life is tough, but STOP listening to what other people think and do the right thing for you. Best advice I've gotten is that it doesn't have to be perfect, just consistent.

It’s 🎉
I can honestly say the last thing I wanted to do this morning was head to the gym early and take my weekly progress pics!

After two days of super indulgent foods & lots of alcohol, I was not feeling the greatest (as expected 😅) A lot of the time I get in the mindset that each week I need to see some type of progress on my body or I wasn’t successful.

I try to get out of that headspace & really look at the big picture. Five years ago, I would have celebrated the past two days and then continued down that path of eating choices. I would’ve stayed in bed this morning & wouldn’t stick to my routine that keeps me going.

Instead, I got up early and made it to the gym to have a really good workout! I took my updated pics and even if there is no difference from the pictures I took last week, I have made progress and I need to acknowledge that! It is HUGE progress that I got back on track today & continue to make the choices that will actually make me feel better.

I’m going to have a nourishing breakfast and focus on the week ahead without worrying about the past two days! That is truly how I have found balance & continued to make progress even when it doesn’t feel like it!

Any step in the right direction is progress & each time you make a choice to better yourself you should be proud!! Take it a day at a time, focus on balance and keep progressing!! You’ve got this! 💪
