Haven offers a variety of activities for students to participate in, including Academics (Homework Help and Computers), Enrichment Activities (“Creating Character,” Team Building, and Multicultural), and Recreation (Arts, Crafts, Board and Card Games, Community Service Projects, Field Trips, Gaming Stations, Indoor Games, Music, Nutrition, Outdoor Games, Special Events, Sports, and Visitors). The Before School Program is in operation each public school day starting at 6:45am; the After School Program runs until 6:00 pm; and the Summer Program operates Monday-Friday from 6:45 am-6:00 pm. The Summer Program also includes Field Trips and the Summer Recreation Program.

Kids had a fun week doing collaborative homecoming posters, making pom-poms, sensory bins, and learning a new card game.

To build up our materials for the imagination station in art we're on the lookout for loose parts. Loose parts can be:

Plastic fruit cups
Lids to applesauce pouches
Small yogurt cups
Plastic spools
Card board scraps
Plastic bottle caps
(Essentially small everyday items that can be used in new ways.)

Please feel free to "recycle" these types of items by giving them to us :) We just ask that any food containers have been washed.

This summer we were excited and appreciative to be a recipient of the Dell Rapids Community Fund Grant to begin updating our Discovery Room furniture to fit our younger students' needs better. We just got our new tables and sensory tub!
