There’s something that happens to gymnastics moms at a meet.

You show up to cheer for your own kid, and five minutes later your heart rate is rising for every single gymnast on the team.

Suddenly you’re whispering “stick it” under your breath for a child who is not technically yours, celebrating landings like you helped raise her, and feeling personally invested in routines from half the rotation.

By the end of the meet, the whole team somehow feels like one giant shared emotional responsibility.

Apparently gym moms do not just support a gymnast.

They adopt an entire lineup for the day.

Do you catch yourself cheering just as hard for the whole team as you do for your own gymnast?
