💜 **MY VOICE. MY STORY. HIS PURPOSE.** 💜

For most of my life, I have heard some version of:

“You talk too much.”

“You’re too much.”

“You need to be quieter.”

“You’re difficult.”

“You’ll never…”

For a long time, words like those can make you question yourself. They can make you wonder whether you need to become quieter, smaller, or somehow less of who you are.

But today, I know something I didn't always know:

**I know who I am.
I know my worth.
And I know my worth is not determined by someone else's ability to understand me.**

Being different does not mean we have less to give this world.

Sometimes, the very thing people tell you to silence becomes the thing God calls you to use. 💜

I know now that what people once called “too much” is actually one of the greatest gifts God gave me.

**God gave me a voice. And He gave me a story worth telling.**

My story didn't come only from textbooks or classrooms.

It came through lived experience.

Adoption. Marriage struggles. Difficult medical seasons with my children. Parenting neurodivergent children. Learning more about neurodivergence. Building businesses. Continuing my education. Advocating for my family. Falling down. Getting back up. And learning how to use my voice when life required me to find it.

Today, I don't look at those experiences and see only the pain.

**I see what God did with them.**

I see resilience.

I see purpose.

I see education.

I see advocacy.

I see a wife and mother.

I see a businesswoman.

I see a coach.

And now, **I see a speaker.**

I see someone who can take what she has lived through and use it to remind someone else that there is hope.

That is part of the heart behind **Family Life Coaching**.

I want caregivers, families, and neurodivergent individuals to know:

💜 You are more than a diagnosis.

💜 You are more than a label.

💜 You are more than somebody else's opinion of you.

💜 Your challenges do not erase your strengths.

💜 Your story is still being written.

And if you've spent years believing you were “too much,” maybe you were never supposed to become less.

**Maybe you needed to discover what all that “much” was meant to do.**

So yes… I talk a lot. 😊

And I don't apologize for it anymore.

My gift of gab really is a gift.

God gave me the ability to communicate, tell stories, educate, advocate, connect, encourage, and speak hope into places where people may feel alone.

I'm learning to use that gift with confidence.

**Speaking.
Educating.
Advocating.
Motivating.**

Nearly 20 years of experiences, education, challenges, victories, faith, and lessons have helped shape the woman I am today.

I don't need everyone to understand my voice.

I don't need everyone to approve of it.

**I know what my voice is for.**

And I am ready to use it.

This is another chapter in my story—and I believe there are many more still waiting to be written. 💜

**My voice.
My story.
His purpose.**

Hidden Loss Is Still Grief

Not every loss involves losing a person.
Psychologically, grief can occur when there is a meaningful difference between the life we expected and the life we are actually living.

Parents may grieve expectations surrounding their child's development, relationships, school experience, independence, or future. Couples may grieve what their relationship used to feel like. Individuals may grieve a version of themselves they thought they would become.

And here's something important:
Grief and gratitude can exist at the same time.
You can deeply love your child and still grieve.
You can appreciate your family and still struggle.
You can have hope and still feel sadness.
Acknowledging the emotion doesn't make you ungrateful. It gives the emotion somewhere to go.

🧡 EFFT Connection: Instead of immediately trying to change an emotion, begin by acknowledging and validating it.

Caregivers Grieve Too 🧡.
It's essential to acknowledge that you can be grateful for your child's presence in your life and still grieve the loss of the future you had envisioned for them. You can celebrate their progress, no matter how small, and still wish that certain aspects of their journey weren't so challenging. You can advocate fiercely for their needs and still get tired, feeling overwhelmed by the weight of responsibility. You can know that your child is exactly who they're supposed to be, with their unique strengths and weaknesses, while grieving the expectations you once carried about their future.

That doesn't diminish your love for them; it's a sign of your humanity. Sometimes caregivers need permission to acknowledge their own emotions without feeling guilty for having them. It's okay to not be okay, and it's essential to recognize that your feelings matter, too. Your emotions are valid, and it's crucial to process them to maintain your mental and emotional well-being.

By acknowledging your grief, you can begin to heal and find a sense of peace. Remember, you're not alone in this journey. 🧡 Your feelings matter, too. Family Life Coaching. Different journeys. Same love. ❤️

Grief Doesn't Always Look Like Grief

Grief isn't always crying.
Sometimes it looks like exhaustion. Irritability. Trouble concentrating. Pulling away. Feeling numb. Becoming overwhelmed by something that normally wouldn't bother you.

When we experience a hidden loss, we may not even recognize what we're feeling as grief.

Instead of asking, “What's wrong with me?” try asking, “What have I been carrying?”
That one question can change the conversation.

The Loss Nobody Sees

Not every loss comes with a funeral.

Sometimes you lose the future you imagined.

A relationship changes. Your child needs support you never expected. Your marriage looks different. Your career changes. Your family enters a season you weren’t prepared for.

Psychologically, these experiences can create real feelings of grief even when nothing has officially been “lost.”

That’s hidden loss.

You don’t necessarily need someone to diagnose you or fix you. Sometimes you need someone who recognizes that what you’re carrying is real.

💙 Post 1: Sometimes Advocacy Starts With One Question

As parents, we often know when something isn’t right for our child—even when we can’t immediately explain what it is.

Maybe they’re coming home from school completely exhausted.

Maybe you’re seeing anxiety, frustration, shutdowns, or meltdowns that aren’t happening in the classroom.

Maybe you’ve heard, “We don’t see that at school.”

One of the most important things I’ve learned is to keep asking questions.

What is happening before the behavior? What might my child be experiencing? What is their behavior trying to communicate?

Advocacy doesn’t always begin with having the answer.

Sometimes it begins with being willing to ask why.

💜 My Greatest Struggles Became My Greatest Strengths

One thing I’ve learned along this journey is that sometimes the very things we struggle with become the things we are eventually called to use to help someone else.

For years, I joked about having the “gift of gab.” 😂 But I’m realizing that maybe it really is a gift.

It’s the gift of being able to tell my story.
To put difficult experiences into words.
To take my knowledge of psychology and make it understandable and useful in everyday life.
To speak up when someone else doesn’t know what to say.
And to remind people that hope and resilience can exist even in the middle of really hard seasons.

Some of my greatest struggles have helped me discover some of my greatest strengths.

And lately, I’ve watched those strengths begin to come together in ways I never expected.

I’ve launched a new series and partnered with W3 Bee-Long, bringing the psychological side of advocacy together with their connections to medical and health professionals and creating a support community for neurodivergent parents and parents raising neurodivergent children.

And this is only the beginning. 💜

Each gathering will have a different topic because families need support in so many different areas—psychological and emotional well-being, school advocacy, IEPs and 504s, healthcare, family relationships, resilience, resources, and simply learning how to use your voice when it feels like no one is listening.

I love coaching, and I always will. But I’ve realized something important about myself:

One of my greatest strengths is advocacy.

It’s telling my story.
It’s educating.
It’s connecting people.
It’s taking what I’ve learned professionally and what I’ve lived personally and using both to help another family.

Because I don’t just understand this professionally.

I’ve lived it.

As a neurodivergent parent raising a neurodivergent child, I know what it is like to sit through those IEP meetings year after year.

I know the preparation before the meeting.

I know the worry during it.

I know the questions you think of after you leave.

And I know the emotional toll of wondering whether your child is truly being understood, not simply accommodated.

Most importantly, I know what it feels like to realize that sometimes you have to become the voice in the room that refuses to let your child be overlooked.

That journey changed me.

The experiences I once saw only as struggles gave me knowledge, empathy, resilience, and a voice.

Now I get to use them to help somebody else.

Maybe that is the biggest lesson of all:

Your story has value.
Your experience has value.
Your knowledge has value.
And your voice has value.

Sometimes the part of your story you wish you never had to live becomes the very part that allows you to look at someone else and say:

“I understand. I’ve sat in that chair too. And you don’t have to figure this out alone.” 💜

That’s the kind of advocacy I want to bring to families.

And I’m incredibly excited about what we’re building and the families we’ll have the opportunity to walk alongside.

🐝 Together, we advocate. Together, we learn. Together, we Bee-Long.
