Dungeons & Deadlines is a huge part of what Nexus brings to GenCon... but it's not all that we bring!

Nexus Game Lounge CEO Jason also led his signature seminar and workshop, The Nexus Way: Creating a Community‑Focused Game Store — a deep dive into the principles that have shaped Nexus into a thriving hub for gamers and creators alike.

Through interactive exercises and candid discussion, Jason explored how to set your store apart from the typical retail model by understanding your unique player population, building authentic community connections, and embracing inclusivity— including the vital role of women in gaming.

By the weekend, something had changed.

We were seeing familiar faces.

Players from last year had COME BACK— finding their Game Masters again and excited to continue the adventures they’d started with us the year before. Seeing people come back specifically to play with our team was one of the coolest parts of the whole convention!

And we’ve got to give a huge shoutout to Brent and Kali, who joined our GenCon GM lineup for the first time this year! They did an incredible job and were a big part of making the weekend such a success, along with our GenCon seasoned GMs Jarred, Lance, and Kyra!

At the end of the day, this is what GenCon is all about for us. The people who show up, sit down at our tables, and share the experience with us.

After bringing Dungeons & Deadlines Part 1 to GenCon last year, seeing Part 2 come to fruition this year and having players return for the highly anticipated sequel was amazing and we can't wait to bring PART 3 to GEN CON 2027!!

It's things like that really make Nexus Game Lounge stand out from the typical game store!

We think it's one of the many reasons we're up for 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 for 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 in the Dallas Observer.

We have spacious tables, templates, terrain, and creative crew to help you build the perfect color palette for your army.

Wargames aren't all we do of course, we also host a myriad of TCGs, TTRPGs, and social events! Plus, we have a bar for adventurers looking to celebrate after a big win.

Continuing with our monthly recap—
We made it to Gen Con!

The first couple of days of GenCon were a whirlwind of running games, exploring the convention, checking out vendors, seeing the sights, and spending time together as a team.

And when we weren’t running games or exploring the show floor, we made sure to enjoy some of the experience together. We grabbed food, went out as a team, and even made dinner together back at the house.

There’s something pretty special about getting to take the whole crew somewhere like Gen Con. It’s not every day you get to work, play, and explore with such an amazing group of people.

Two days down, and we were just getting started.

We said we’d “touch back tomorrow to see how our airplane team is doing.” Let’s just say… our definition of “tomorrow” may have been a little flexible. 😂
