What is peer coaching, really?
It's having someone in your corner who gets it, because they've been there. They're a guide who has walked the road themselves and knows what it takes to keep moving forward.
✔️ Real conversations, no judgment
✔️ Accountability that actually feels supportive
✔️ Someone who believes in your progress, even on the hard days
Connection is one of the strongest tools in recovery. That's what Ke'nekt is built on.

September is National Recovery Month; a time to recognize that recovery is possible, and that no one has to walk it alone. 🌿
At Ke'nekt, our peer coaches have walked this path themselves. They bring lived experience, not just training, meeting people where they are with understanding, accountability, and real hope for what's next.
Recovery isn't a straight line, and it isn't meant to be done in isolation. This month, we're celebrating every person in recovery, every person supporting someone through it, and the connection that makes it possible.
💚 Know someone who could use a peer coach in their corner? Reach out; we're here.

Meet Cedric Clark, our Recovery Coach Supervisor. Cedric's own recovery date is August 8, 2016. After years of struggle, including time in and out of the judicial system and multiple attempts at recovery, he chose to leave the oil field behind and pursue what truly mattered to him: helping others find theirs. He's CCAR certified, a certified personal trainer, and a firm believer that addiction isn't a morality issue; it's a life issue. Above all, Cedric prides himself on being a good listener. Grateful to have him on this team.

Keep Moving Forward
"It ain't about how hard you can hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward." Our Recovery Coach Supervisor, Cedric Clark, keeps that one close, and it says everything about what recovery actually takes. Not perfection but persistence. Keep going.

Wellness Wednesday: Emotional
Emotional wellness means learning to sit with hard feelings instead of numbing them, and that's a skill, not a switch you flip overnight. In our life skills groups, we practice naming what we feel before deciding what to do about it. If today's a hard day, that's allowed. You don't have to have it figured out to be doing the work.

Faces of ke'nekt: Teri Smith
This month marks 21 years of recovery for our founder, Teri Smith, on August 9, 2005. Her career helping others recover began even earlier, back in 1999, and today she sits on the Board of the Colorado Association of Addiction Professionals and has spoken on the TEDx stage. But ask Teri, and she'll tell you her most important work has been letting go of her own shame so she could become a voice for people still finding theirs. Happy recovery birthday, Teri — thank you for building this.

Thoughtful Thursday
"The opposite of addiction is not sobriety; the opposite of addiction is connection." That's the idea our whole program is built on. Recovery isn't a solo project; it's community, coaching, and connection, one step at a time. Who's someone that's helped you feel less alone this week?

🌅 Small Steps Still Count
It’s easy to focus on how far you still have to go, but don’t forget to look back at how far you’ve already come.
Every healthy choice.
Every difficult conversation.
Every day you choose to keep going.
Those moments add up.
Celebrate your progress, even if no one else sees it. Growth happens one step at a time.
