Been really quiet over here lately as I push through the last few weeks of and the many chapters still to go on my way to my CPSS exam.

The few moments of quiet allow me to start to grasp all that I've done in the last two years, and when that sinks in it's a feeling I can't even put into words.

I think back to all the old versions of me, the self counscious little girl, the drug addict, being broken in a hospital bed, finishing my undergraduate degree, starting my first real job, building my own training practice. I was all of those people, all along on my way to here.

And now after all this time I feel so grounded and excited and terrified of what to do next with my life but I'm so glad this hurdle is nearly over.

The parts of yourself that even you wish you could hide and some of the parts that make you the strongest.

To change any one piece would change the whole, and that could dull the difference you bring to the world.

Know who you are, both the great and the flawed.

With each run, each workout your body and your mind become more resilient, this is the art of the process.

Timing to Enhance Your Training Supercompensation is the body’s adaptation to a bout of exercise stress that leads to enhanced strength, speed, and endurance as a response to training. Got to share the incline experience with a super special client (and of course Dad) of mine yesterday who crushed it for her first time.

Every year this climb bring me some nerves, some excitement, some sweat and a ton of joy.

Next year I'm after a finish in less than 40 minutes!

Hip joint capsule release techniques help create more space in the joint which results in better movement.

A hip that is stuck in adduction and internal rotation limits Glute max and Glute med activation and results in a compromised movement pattern.

So, if you struggle with knee, hip or low back pain you may need to unlock that hip and turn on the strength of those glutes!
Happy Saturday!

Running a trail can be pretty terrible (in a great way) but the views make it easier to get through.

Working my way to some goals and staying grounded as best I can.

New blog post up this week for those runners out there! I've been working my way through the science for program design specific to runners.

I work with a wide variety of athletes but running is where my heart lives and getting to teach my runners about the importance of cross-training is something I love.

Celebrating completely normal bones!

7 years ago after I broke my hip and got the diagnosis of osteoporosis at 22 I knew I needed to stop doing things the way I had been.

Add 7 years, 30 pounds, an exercise degree and hours of weight training and I my bones are now completely normal.

Exercise is your only controllable risk factor for so many different medical conditions. Take control and build yourself a stable future.
