Come out and learn the United States Croquet Association rules for the sport you love to play.

The Denver Croquet Club is thrilled to announce the upcoming United States Croquet Association's National 9-Wicket Championship

The Denver Croquet Club is hosting the tournament to be played at Pulaski Park, Denver, CO from Wednesday, August 22nd through Saturday August 26th.

9-wicket croquet is also referred to as “backyard croquet” or “long grass croquet.” It is the croquet many of us grew up playing in backyards and at picnics. This tournament will use USCA rules, not “Aunt Jane and Uncle Fred’s rules.”

This tournament will be played using USCA tournament rules for the Championship and First Flight. The tournament will feature a new “Introductory Flight” for none-USCA members. This rules for this flight will be simplified and have fewer advanced rules.

The “Introductory Flight” will play Thursday August 23rd through to finals on Saturday. August 26th.

The tournament is open to players of all ages 16 and older, experienced or new to the sport.

But wait there's more! Each day the tournament will feature delightful social events for all participants to enjoy. The tournament warmly welcomes visitors and guests of all ages come and watch the matches and or register for the social events.

Registration is required and can be completed on the USCA’s event page: USCA 9W National Championship Registration.

We hope you are enjoying the beautiful spring weather! It's a perfect time to come out and create some croquet fun! There are two opportunities to join in the games this week - on Sunday at 5:00 pm and on Monday at 6:00 pm.

This Monday, we have a special treat for you! Club member Ron Eccles will give a 15-minute demonstration of the different croquet grips starting at 5:45 pm. Which one is best for you? Different grips appeal to different players, and you might just find the one that feels most natural for you!

So come on out and join us for some croquet action! It's a great opportunity to meet other club members, enjoy some friendly competition, and maybe even learn a new technique or two. Let’s get those balls rolling!
