My name is Laura, and above everything, I am Kennedy and Taylor’s mama. These past few years have sparked radical transformation as I went from a corporate working woman to a stay-at-home Mom of two practically overnight. I have learned so many incredible tools from this practice and they have brought me into my purpose, saved my sanity and supported me becoming a better balanced, more authentic v
ersion of myself. I am a Registered Perinatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT), Postpartum Doula, and a certified Perinatal Mental Health Advocate here in Denver, Co. Through much of my life, I have struggled with anxiety. After both of my daughter's births, I then suffered debilitating postpartum anxiety and depression. I had such profoundly intense, and terrifying experiences postpartum and felt unseen and left behind by the medical community and society. Everyone was there to hold the baby, but who is there to hold the me? My healing journey began when I met myself back on my yoga mat, after years of not practicing. Each time I stepped on the mat, I moved energy, connected back to myself and was able to focus on nothing but my body and breath. Shortly thereafter, I enrolled in my first 200- hour yoga training and those 4 months would be the catalyst to change my life and career forever. I have learned so many amazing tools through yoga, therapy, meditation, and proper nutrition that I wanted to help other Mama’s with similar experiences, and I am no longer defined by my anxiety. This is my "why" for starting La Mere: to create and hold space for supporting mom's exactly where they are in their own journey. With my own healing, I found a new purpose in life to share this incredible knowledge which has changed how I move through life and motherhood. I cannot wait to meet you and discover how this amazing practice can support you along your journey becoming mama.
