COVID-19 UPDATE
Individuals, communities, and healthcare providers around the world continue to confront the challenges of COVID-19. Healthcare workers are on the front lines doing all they can for the patients in their care. We thank them for their commitment and tireless efforts. As a safety-focused company, Avametrix is committed to the health and safety of our community and we support measures to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
These are difficult times, but Avametrix is alive and well. Development of the AvyScanner has been slowed by the pandemic but we continue to make progress where we can. During the quarantine and shutdown, we were able to use the time to redesign the mechanical aspects of the AvyScanner to significantly reduce the size while nearly doubling the battery capacity. The radar lab has reopened and we have recommenced chamber testing. Additionally, Snowpilot.org has graciously provided us with over 13,000 snowpit profiles for use training our artificial neural network.

While our engineering activities have slowed due to the shelter-in-place order, Avametrix is using our two 3D printers to produce COVID-19 protective face shields around the clock to donate to front-line medical workers.
