My favorite finds from yesterday’s foray… a whole bunch of pink waxcaps! They’re not particularly interesting or exciting (i.e. edible) but they sure are pretty.

Morels in my front garden?? Nope! These don’t even look all that much like them to me, but every year I see folks mistake these guys for morels because of the cap’s sort of honeycomb texture. Say hello to phallus impudicus, the common stinkhorn.

Mushroom season is underway! We had an incredible scouting foray this week and Cricket even found their first morel! How many of these common spring shrooms can you identify?

Just daydreaming about this past summer’s treasure hunts… We’ve been over here hibernating but are excited to return to the woods when the time is right again!
